MVSPY/COMCAST
MVSPY/COMCAST
Does anyone know about this? I, recently. had 2 people visit my house from COMCAST, about their new music video nework called, MVSPY! [I have a contract in my hand from them!] In reading through the contract, it states it is ONLY between indie labels, not A & R people which gives the bands/artists to indie labels, majors, etc...! Also, there is a 'cost' to have your music video played on MVSPY...and it's not small. [They would only like dvd music video's only!] I feel this could be good idea, but there's not alot to work with, plus, you need to fork over quite a few big bucks. They have been floating all over the area about this, but be very careful in what they might tell you. The music and record biz is going through alot of big changes and there is still alot to come. [I know, because I've been there quite a few times and was burnt to often, to say the least!] Also, there is very, very rarely that you ever meet an 'honest' person in the music and record biz. I'd be very interested in hearing feedback on this! Best Regards, JIM [A & R, etc...] PS: Please feel free to e-mail me at: jallford@nb.net

Re: MVSPY/COMCAST
MvSpy showcases 12 new acts nationwide. It costs a band $500 to have MvSpy play your video on comcast's digital "on-demand" network for one month. At the end of the month they tell you how many people watched it.zaragon wrote:In reading through the contract, it states it is ONLY between indie labels, not A & R people which gives the bands/artists to indie labels, majors, etc...!
Sounds like ass-wiping material to me too Bob.
... and then the wheel fell off.
I got the info at the MVspy website http://mvspy.com/submission.html
Now I'm intrigued about the huge difference in costs. Is it a 6 month contract instead of a 30 day contract?
