Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the April 21 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to this week’s guest, Cambria County-based singer, songwriter, guitarist and aspiring country artist Adam Ernst! We met and became acquainted with Adam, learned his story and career to date, and heard songs from his latest CD, Asphalt Dreams! We also updated “Local Music News,” dug a 1984 song by Dakota from the archive for this week’s “Local Music Flashback,” and reviewed Joey Welz’s Still Rockin’ Around the Clock CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”

In Local Music News…
Going on at this hour, a benefit show at Pellegrine’s is raising money to help out an area breast cancer patient. The Rockers for Knockers Benefit is helping out Kathe Karle, as a number of area bands and artists are donating their talents toward the cause. Bands participating include Brian Cupples, The House Band, Cousin Mike, Left for Dead, Backyard Rockers, Tuckey & Rooster, Colton Fouse, Phil Baskin, The Jam, Ambush, Thrown Together and Jumpin’ Rob. One band that was originally slated to take part, Skye 2.0, had to withdraw due to illness issues.
Another benefit show will take place at Pellegrine’s next Saturday night to help a new community organization get off the ground. The Taking Back Tomorrow organization, a fledgling group seeking to do community service to improve living conditions in the Altoona area, is presenting the benefit, which will feature performances from various area bands and solo performers including Matt Pletcher, Left For Dead, Brian Middleton, The Jam, The Company You Keep and Up Your Arsenal. The donation will be $5. There will also be door prizes and a basket auction.
Huntingdon County-based heavy metal/hardcore rockers Limb By Limb have signed with indie label Born of Chaos Records. The group will release their first official CD, The End Of All Good Things, on June 1 with a CD release show at Jabberjaws in Allentown. The album will also be available on Amazon, iTunes, CD baby and more.
