Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the March 10 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Originally, we were to have band guests on this week’s program. But last-minute complications prevented Brand New Wings from joining us this week, and we will reschedule their appearance for later in the year. In lieu of in-studio guests, we instead used the opportunity to empty the “Homegrown Rocker” mailboxes and check out new local and regional recordings that have arrived in recent weeks. We debuted new songs from Kenny Murdick, Nitro, Fatality Risen, The Hawks Blues Band, Paragon. A Fine Mess, Ragdoll Physics and Blood Union. We also updated “Local Music News,” dug a 1999 song by Johnstown’s Ozone from the archive for this week’s “Local Music Flashback,” stepped “Across State Lines” to hear music from Nashville’s Throwing Gravity, and reviewed Ninetail’s The Vultures Are Circling CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!”
Here is this week's playlist:

THE GOOD SEEDS – “She’s Half of a Pill”

Since our next program coincides with Saint Patrick’s Day, we will let area musicians ‘get their Irish up’ on our annual St. Patty’s Day Special! We will spotlight bands and artists who dabble in Irish or Celtic styles and themes; from traditional Celtic folk to Irish-flavored punk rock and more! Along the way, we will update “Local Music News,” and review a new local or regional CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” We hope you’re wearing your green when you listen to the St. Patty’s Day Special edition of the “Homegrown Rocker” next Sunday night!
And the “Homegrown Rocker” is available for digital download off either Rocky website after each and every show. Just check on either (www.rocky1049.com) or (www.rocky99.com) and download your copy of the show!
