The Hawks year end update!!

Post by T.H.B.B. »

Just a quick Hawks' update for everyone. Tonight's gig at the Bunker Inn will be our last for 2012. We want to thank everyone for their support this past year. This line up of The Hawks has just celebrated one year together and we are looking for what the future will bring. It has been an interesting year and we have had a great time preaching the word of the blues Hawks' style . We have learned a lot and have made many new friends and fans while having the opportunity to play new places and venues.

As we having indicated before, we have started recording our new CD of original Hawks' material and we are hoping for a spring release. We had a minor setback with the failure of our recording board but that has been fixed and we will be in the studio in the up coming weeks to get more tracks recorded. From what we have recorded so far we are very excited about the CD.

We are currently working on our schedule for 2013 and as we add dates we will post them so that you can plan accordingly. With venues closing or changing their entertainment format we know there will be some challenges ahead, but that is part of the business. we are constantly in contact with clubs, venues, and festivals to find suitable places to showcase The Hawks' in your face brand of the blues. For our Atloona area fans, unfortunately we don't see anything in the Altoona area for the foreseeable future but we are working to resolve that. So keep an eye on our schedule to see what develops.

In other news, we are looking at competing again in one or two blues challenges again this year. We have already sent in the paperwork for one and we are trying to decide on the others. Once we having something more concrete we will let everyone know.

That's about it for now. In closing, we hope that all of your blues are of the musical kind and we want to wish everyone the merriest of Christmases and a safe and prosperous New Year.

Don't forget to support live music and the venues that have live music.

In closing, there is a lot of strange crap going on in the world today, so please take a moment to think about those who are or have been affected by the unconscionable acts of others as we go on with our daily lives!!

Peace Out!!

The Hawks
