Why are people so quick to blame the union alone? The company used the last bankruptcy to bleed its workers and increase the pay of the CEO and Executive team. I'm not claiming to know every detail about the situation, but if greed is a major factor, it exists on both sides of the fence.

And don't worry. Twinkies will be back, made by someone else. So don't over pay for them on ebay unless you're truly desperate.

The bigger concern is not the loss of Twinkies, but the loss of pensions for American workers. What are we going to live on when we're old? Social Security? How many people have put away enough of what they're earning today?

Maybe we should prohibit the import of any goods from other countries that were produced by workers subjected to conditions that would not be acceptable here. Until then, our lowest paid workers will continue to get the shaft and businesses will continue to invest in cheap labor abroad with little to no safety inspection.

Or, we could abolish all unions and allow business to recreate China's workforce here at home with American workers. If you don't think it will happen, then just ask yourself, why do we currently invest in and buy products that are made under these conditions?

I can see it now. The Twinkie aficionados will wax on about how the new Twinkies are vastly inferior to the old school Twinkies of yore. The old Twinkies will have "mojo." This, of course, will drive up demand and prices of vintage Twinkies in the collector's market. An old box of Twinkies will be around the price of a vintage Fender Broadcaster!

So what Union do you belong to Larry?The answer to your last question is simple.Our bloated government who bows the the enviroweenies has over regulated us completely out of all manufacturing jobs period.My father in law worked for SKF for over 30 years till over regulation and union bullying forced them to close shop and move south of the boarder.I guess your work condition theory would make sense if it were 1912.

if you know anything about this they haven't had a raise in years and i think they deserve it, working in place that's a billion dollar company and what are union went thru just to keep what we have and get a little more when the company could afford it but didn't want to give it because they are the ones who are greedy not the unions !!!
