Paul,I use a G30 and it works great and it's cheaper too. Plus,it uses a 1/4" cable,the G50 uses a mini XLR style plug which could be a problem if it goes bad at a gig where the G30 can just use a regular guitar cable. But the Line 6 units work great,I have no problems with it at all.
Thanks for the recommendation, Scott! What do you think about the transmitter? From what I understand, it's not as heavy duty as the transmitters for the G50 and G90. I don't abuse my equipment, but it definitely gets used a good deal.

I don't have any problem with it Paul. They're made of plastic,but what isn't. I was gonna get the G50 but I didn't care for their mini xlr plug at the transmitter. Buy the G30,I don't believe you'll be disappointed at all.
