Something to help prevent getting sick......

Post by facingwest »

I discovered something here that is supposed to boost your immune system, so you don't get sick and wanted to share it with everyone. It's called Airbourne Formula. You take it at the first sign of a cold symptom or before entering crowded environments. So far, so good to how it works because I haven't gotten sick yet. I came close a few times though. Goto www.airbornehealth.com if you'd like to read more about it. I believe you can buy it at Walmart.

People from all over the world visit here, so you're bound to catch something. Also, with the weather the way it is, everything spreads. The only reason people look at winter as the cold season is because you're in a contained room. Here it's more open. There were a few flu's that went around, but I didn't catch anything....Thank God.

John, Did that stuff help with the case of crabs you caught down there? I heard they were the size of lobsters.

I don't understand how that can work because you are actually sick way before you feel symptoms. :?

I just saw a blurb about that stuff on the evening news the other day... it focused on the fact that it apparently does what it says, and also that since Oprah metioned it on-air a few weeks ago, it's been back-ordered, out-of-stock ever since.
My wife used Zicam nasal spray, at the first symptoms (She easily recognized the symptoms from my having come down with the stuff 18 or so hours earlier)... it appears to have worked. She got a little blah, but not death-bed sick like I did (I waited too long to try it). There have been a few clinical trials of the main Zicam ingredient, zinc, and they do tend towards shorter durations and less severity of symptoms... obviously, there's no cure.
There seems to be two seperate bugs around here this winter: a stomach-churning deal, with diarrhea and vomiting for distance; and the garden-variety fever/head/chest flu, like I have. I don't see much advantage to either one, the stomach-bug is shorter, but messier.
I think I'd get well quicker, facingwest, if I could soak up some vitamin D/sunshine on a Key West beach, maybe a little fresh-squeezed Florida O.J., and a shot of rum, for medicinal purposes only! ---->JMS

Isn't it funny that when we get sick, we automatically think of what we can mix with things to make them alc-a-fied?
*Got the flu? Do a shot of gingerbrandy.
*Nausea? Seven Up and Siegrems or Gingerale and gingerbrandy.
*Getting a cold? Screw Driver's Oj and Vodka.
*Need more milk for your bones? Go for a White Russian (Milk, Kalua, Vodka)
*Yeast infection turned Urinary tract infection? Either Vodka and Crandberry juice or do a Volcano: Vodka, Crandberry, blue maui.
*Hangover? Drink what you just had all night long and it will knock it out of you again. Or a bloody mary.
*Sore Throat? Yukon or Southern Comfort.

My wife used to work at a Dr's office....3 best things to prevent getting a cold:
1. Wash your hands regularly
2. Don't pick your nose
3. Don't rub your eyes

Apparently almost all colds enter the body thru the nose or eyes (tear ducts that lead to the sinuses). If you touched a surface that someone with a cold has recently touched with a hand that they coughed or sneezed into or was picking their nose with, and then you do #2 or #3 above without first doing #1, well, little germies are on the way to the nasal cavity to breed and cause trouble for you. I saw on the news or Dateline or something, not long ago that very few colds are picked up "in the air" so to say. It said in order to catch germs that way, you'd need to walk directly into someone's sneeze or cough spray within 5 seconds of them doing such act. Eeeeewwwwwwww!!!
