My name is Chad and I am formerly of The Embalmed, Killjingle, Deviance, Bloody Mary etc. The sun has set on some of my musical aspirations but not on the fact that I love to play and write original music. The band I am currently putting together currently needs a bass player. We had the right dude for the job, but we decided he would be an even better fit as our other guitarist. I am extremely limited with the amt of times that I can play out because I am in love with being a dad all over again. My family is priority number one. That doesnt mean you get less of my willingness to be the best that I can be; it just simply lends itself to the fact that playing a stage every other weekend is not something that I want to do at this point in my life. I am thinking playing a gig every 6 weeks...
I am approaching 40 and I am comfortable with where I am in life to most extents other than I could always use more money and wish I had a lot more to show for what I have worked for over the years. Blah, blah, blah. Heard it all before I am sure. Me too.
The gig is all about putting some dudes together who have similar tastes and interests in music and life experiences. I want you to know my kid and I wouldnt mind knowing yours. I would expect that the cat that may fit the bill would possess some reasonable chops, have gear that doesnt blow, and be willing to play music tuned to A and beyond. The candidate is welcome to have another band that can be his/her main focus as long as they dont suck on my time. My time is a premium to me. Not interested in having someone come in and waste it. I can do that jerkin off to porn and get better results.
The music would best be described as something heavy u might have heard before, but with a different kind of twist. Sludgy, doomy, chordal, thrashy, offtime, rock, metal. No death metal vocals this time. I am not singing at the moment and have no real interest in the foreseeable future. Not looking for a songwriter but wouldnt mind having a contributor. Practice is 3 miles from Walmart in Johnstown. Do not bring drugs to my house. Do not bring a rockstar attitude. Be confident and stimulating to be around. Dont come in whining about your problems, cash flow, ex bandmates, old lady, or current bandmates. Drama is not something that I am willing to tolerate. Hit me up here or at dcdstudios@comcast.net
Sorry for being so blunt on some topics, but I think zero bullsh*t is the best policy.

Well said Chad, I commend you on your honesty bro. You know, I always thought highly of you and your brother Jason. You guys are among the handful of great people that I got to know while being out and about. I too am falling in love with being a Dad again, and that is a great feeling. He's kept me out of the loop so to speak, so I more or less dropped off the face of the earth for a couple years.
Sounds like a cool project for sure, maybe I'll drop by one evening during practice, on my way to see my kid in H-burgh. FYI, I whine alot, so you may ask me to leave.
Best of luck on the search Chad
P.S.
What tuning are you in?
ADGBEA?
So, what's best for that in terms of a bass? 5 or 6 string?

Jesus Chad, did you blow Bushy to get him to tune down that low without a hissy fit LOL! That's where FedUp tuned at and all he did was whine about it!onegunguitar wrote:We are in dropped "A" Joe...A E A D G B. I used a 5 string because it made life easier, haha.

Both these guys are great dudes and are totally professional and that has to be the best wanted post ever laid out after some of the dead beats we've dealt with. Good Luck guys anxious to hear it.
