Drummer wanted -- Please read carefully

Post by Atomic Jim »

We are in the very early stages of putting Heartbreaker back together. Heartbreaker was a female-fronted band that played throughout central PA from 1981 to 1984. We have three original members who are going to start rehearsals soon.

We want to play 2-3 times a month from April through December. We do not want to play or be out on the roads in the winter. We will be reprising many of the song that we did in the 80s; 70s rock and 80s new wave mostly. None of us are very concerned with money. We just want to play and make good music, and entertain. We are in our 50s and 60s, but will not judge a perspective drummer by age, only by talent and personality.

Here's what we're looking for in a drummer: someone who plays for the love of playing, enjoys the kinds of music that we enjoy, is a good person with a minimum of ego. (We all have some ego, that's why we're musicians.) You probably will not be able to make a living in this band. If you're looking for a gig because you need money, this is not the band for you. If all goes well, we will try to book some gigs for next spring-summer. We need a drummer who is patient, and in no hurry to get out and play.

We have a nice practice studio, with Tama drums and Zildjian A cymbals. We are located in Strongstown, Indiana Co.

The members of the band are: Carol Kennedy, Randy Krouse, and Jim Kennedy. Jennifer Kennedy might join us on vocals at times.

If you think this is the kind of gig you are looking for, give us a call and maybe we can jam sometime.

I may be interested. I am from Johnstown and I see Strongstown is about 30 miles / minutes.

I am a young 51 year old who has been playing drums for over 30 years.

I have excellent equipment as well as a equipment trailer, 2 PA's, mic's, etc.

I do not need the money but would still like to make enough on a consistent basis to pay for my expenses.

You all sound as if you have been around the block. I have been too and would love to meet and jam.

Please email me at dmcclellan3@atlanticbb.net or call 814-266-4428. Lets talk.

I have had the pleasure of working with Jim and Carol a few times over the years. I was in Jim's band, the Impacts, in the 1960's. Have also been sound engineer for later productions of theirs. Always professional, no issues to deal with, just want to play music and have a good time.
I love it when a plan comes together.
