Deep Purple and Rush are finally nominated but other well deserving acts are still left off the ballot.
The nominations for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2013 are in. This year's hopefuls are:
Deep Purple
Rush
Heart
Albert King
Chic
Donna Summer
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Kraftwerk
The Marvelettes
The Meters
N.W.A.
Paul Butterfield Blues Band
Procol Harum
Public Enemy

The top vote-getters will be inducted on April 18th, 2013 at the Nokia Theater L.A. live in Los Angeles.
For the first time, the public gets to vote alongside the artists, historians and music industry insiders of the Rock Hall voting body. From now until December 5th, fans can vote on RollingStone.com for the nominees they'd like to see inducted. The top five acts will comprise a "fan's ballot" that will count as one of the more than 600 ballots that determine the Class of 2013. The results will be announced in mid-December.

The fan ballot counts for a whopping 0.16% of the overall vote? That's mighty nice of them.moxham123 wrote:fans can vote on RollingStone.com for the nominees they'd like to see inducted. To make a point that bands like Rush and Deep Purple still matter in 2012. There's probably an element of market research in that poll. Somebody must be taking notice... looking at the RollingStone.com homepage, there are six pictures of Rush right now. (Meanwhile Chic, who gets nominated every year, is dead last in the fan poll.)f.sciarrillo wrote: Why even bother voting then?

The same with Flavor Flav and Public Enemy. Makes not sense. How can anybody say they should be in the HOF and The Moody Blues, Yes, Jethro Tull, The Cars, and many others are not?RobTheDrummer wrote:NWA getting in the rock and roll hall of fame is like Metallica getting into the rap hall of fame....makes no sense.
