Toni Iommi beat Dave Mustaine in the last one. I went with Les Paul on this one.
The remainder of the sweet 16 is:
Jimmy Hendrix vs. David Gilmour
Jimmy Page vs. Robert Johnson
Steve Vai vs. Joe Satriani
Dimebag Darrel vs. Alex Lifeson
It is getting pretty interesting here.

I just checked and Les Paul and Brian May are dead even. This is going to be a close one.

Now Brian May is way ahead of Les Paul. There must have been some late voting last night.

All the Les Paul voters went to bed at 9pm.

I didn't see the one with Vai and Satch. I was thinking that Satch would win, though. I also can't find the results for the Les Paul and Brain May.
On this one, I went with Gimour. Only because he influenced me more than Hendrix did. Hendrix is in the lead.

Poll: The Greatest Guitarist of All Time, Round 4 — Dimebag Darrell Vs. Alex Lifeson
http://www.guitarworld.com/poll-greates ... ex-lifeson
I went with Lifeson on this one ...
Hendrix beat Gilmour in the last one.
Next it will be Hendrix vs. SRV ... And the winner of this one goes up against Toni Iommi
You also have Satch against Eddie Van Halen. That will be an interesting one.

Poll: The Greatest Guitarist of All Time, Round 5 — Jimi Hendrix Vs. Stevie Ray Vaughan
http://www.guitarworld.com/poll-greates ... ay-vaughan
This is going to be an interesting one. I went with SRV ... Even though I think SRV would choose Hendrix, as he was one of SRV's biggest influences.
Hendrix has a huge lead.
Alex Lifeson beat Dimebag in the last one. He will be taking on Toni Iommi next.

The latest:
Alex Lifeson beat Tony Iommi
Eddie Van Halen beat Joe Satriani
Brian May beat Jimmy Page
So your final four are:
Jimi Hendrix
Brian May
Eddie Van Halen
Alex Lifeson
The current matchup is Eddie vs Alex (Lifeson):

I went with Eddie on this one. He is in the lead. Whoever wins this one goes into the finals. It will probably be with Hendrix.

This one between the dead guys would have been the final had they not been on the same side of the brackets.

If it was set up in a different structure, I think you might be right. As for this final, I think it is going to be EVH and Hendrix. I don't know who will win that one. My gut says Hendrix, but my mind says EVH.

The Finals: EVH vs. Brian May
When this whole thing started, I was predicting Hendrix and EVH making the top two with Hendrix taking top slot...looks like Brian May was one hell of a wildcard. I'd never have guessed for him to come this far.

Nor I. A great guitarist from many perspectives, but nothing really jumps up and shouts:
"Greatest Guitarist of All Time"
I would expect a slam dunk for EVH.

It's a testament to the power of social media. Queen has been pushing the poll to their 16 million+ Facebook followers.

I just watched the Brian May video...it reminded me of a primordial-Forces jam session in my parents' basement from 1974...minus the intelligent harmony processor, of course.

Jimi Hendrix but the best of all time is Frank Zappa, no one can play like he did, NO ONE ! Zappa p-layed everything, rock ,, classical, jazz, he was untouchable,
Zappa had more feeling in his playing than anyone....
