Why does iTunes suck?
Why does iTunes suck?
How come every time I add music to a library, iTunes duplicates the song and then puts an ! by it because it can't find the song? Is there some trick to it that I'm not aware of?
Any help would be appreciated. I'm actually organizing somebody else's music(they're somewhat computer challenged).

What do you have the music folder set at? Also, is 'Copy files to iTunes media folder when adding to library' checked? If it is uncheck it, clear the library and re-add them. Make sure that they don't delete from the computer when you are deleting them from the library ....
I have a custom music folder set for mine, and also the folder option mentioned above unchecked.

Nice one, Frank. It was my wife that couldn't figure it out, I won't soil my hands with I-anything. I always tell people, you can pay, for example, $125 for an 8gb iPod Nano, or you can get a comparable model from Sony...
Except with the Sony you get 16gb of storage...
Oh, and the Sony only retails for $79.98. About 40% less than an iPod, and they do the same exact thing. And no stupid iTunes. With Apple, you pay for the name.

HAHA .. But, kevin, once you go Apple you never go back to windows ... And you didn't say it was your wife who couldn't figure it out. If you did, I didn't hear you.ToonaRockGuy wrote:Nice one, Frank. It was my wife that couldn't figure it out, I won't soil my hands with I-anything. I love iTunes, and I love Apple products. -> My next apple product is going to be the iPhone 5.

I wouldn't say that. While it is true for most people, using definitives isn't usually a good idea. I actually had an iPod touch a few years ago. I figured I'd try it out and see what I thought. Turns out, I didn't like the closed ecosystem. That might be exactly what some people want.f.sciarrillo wrote:once you go Apple you never go back to windows ...
Either way, this debate has been going on as long as Apple has been a company. Steve Jobs vs. the world, right?
I think I should have titled this thread " Why does iTunes hate me?" Instead, nnnooooo, I had to place my dislike of the company in the title. Sorry.

You are correct, there are some people who do go to MAC and then go back. A lof of it is based on the learning curve. Once you get through the process, apple products are so easy to use it isn't funny.CMOR wrote:I wouldn't say that. While it is true for most people, using definitives isn't usually a good idea. It is cool that you put your hate for it in the title. You aren't the only one who hates it

I still think one of the best sounds is the 'Popping sound' brought on by a good 'ole record while playing.

Removing youtube and google maps integration isn't a bad thing. The license expired and Google is making a new app that will be available through the apps store.ToonaRockGuy wrote:Frank, may wanna do some research before you go iPhone 5. They are overhauling it big time, and not in a good way. No YouTube, different charger, and it won't be able to be fixed by a third party any longer with the case changes. Think long and hard about it.

Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster! Two of the things I hate about the current iOS are being updated, finally.f.sciarrillo wrote: Removing youtube and google maps integration isn't a bad thing. The license expired and Google is making a new app that will be available through the apps store.
