I don't know about anyone else, but I love shows where they restore old things. Awhile back I got a JCM 800 2204s and a 1960a off ebay. The pictures were grainy, but I took a chance because the price was really good. It turned out that the amp was functionally perfect but cosmetically challenged. I later found out that it was a special JCM 800 called a 2204s. S is for small form factor. I've done some research and only 200 were ever made. That made me want to restore it to its former glory some day.

That day was yesterday. The cabinet was beat. I had to completely refill and shape the corners with wood putty and sand all the old crap off, then retolex. It sucked but the work is finally done--all but the corner protectors which are on their way. If you've done a restoration project on an amp or guitar and have pictures, why don't you upload them here. I'd love to see what other people have done, or feel free to just comment on this or talk about restorations you have done. In the meantime, here are some pics.

Fantastic Restoration Job! Really,

Not a musical Restoration but we once moved our house which was ready for "Blight of the Week" and restored it.

great thread! i love the restore on the marshall

heres a guitar i picked up for a few bucks. it was well, ugly and needed some major repairs.

its still a work in progress, can't seem to find tuning knobs that line up. but thats one i rebuilt and painted.

I'm always interested in how guitars are refinished. I'd love to be able to refinish one of my old guitars, but I'd never know where to begin and I'm afraid the end product would look worse than it does now.
