Dee Snider is a dick

Post by Craven Sound »

Twisted Sister was at Clearfield last night and boy is that one band that is full of themselves. They kept dropping eff bombs which could be heard throughout the fairgrounds. Their meet and greet seemed like you were waiting for a police line up. Musically, they still have it, but the egos are crazy for a band that hasn't had a hit in 30 years.

One thing that always bugs me about Dee Snider is when he goes on and on about how awesome he was at the PMRC hearings back in 1985. In typical egomaniacal fashion, he still brags as if he demonstrated the penultimate performance of philosophical discourse and political debate. In reality, he sounded like some bridge and tunneler from Queens who was lucky to put 3 sentences together intelligibly. He probably did more harm than good. I personally thought that both Zappa and John Denver not only out classed him as far as proper decorum is concerned, but also made far more salient points and did it far more eloquently.

+1 on that bro
Love old Twisted Sister, but sometimes I just focus on what comes out of the speakers as opposed to picturing them as people if that makes sense.
I do that to alot of music...

Fact is, there are probably a lot of musicians/entertainers like that. I think that when you get to a position of fame and wealth, without needing any real hard work or discipline to get there (and playing music, acting, or playing sports is NOT hard work) it's easy to loose sight of the fact that your poop smells like everybody else's.

I met a few "rockstars" while living in LA - John Anderson (Yes), Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard, Whitesnake, etc) & Dan Huff (Giant), Robbie Rist
They were always kind & gracious, no egos. I really think the only stars that act like Snider are washed up posers playing at County Fairs. Clearfield IS an exeption, being a great, professional venue, but i have a feeling Ol Dee is playing lots of fairs when he's not trying to be Alice Cooper on the radio...

That's just it. Alice played last year, he was the coolest guy ever, Dee will never be as cool.
