Man those lessons sure made their rounds over the last 25 years!!The theory lesson really sank into me early.Everything made sense to me right away almost like connecting the dots.Honestly that one paperback booklet and tape was the start of a beautiful and fruitful relationship with the Gitfiddle that's gonna last till the day i give up breathing.Bravo Doug Marks!!

Amen. Doug Marks has to be one of the most influential metal guitarists ever. When Metal Method came out (really showing my age here, heh), it was really hard to find lessons that taught heavy music. Mel Bay and Hal Leonard were still trying to teach you Kumbaya. Doug Marks taught you the style of music you were actually listening to.whitedevilone wrote:Man those lessons sure made their rounds over the last 25 years!!The theory lesson really sank into me early.Everything made sense to me right away almost like connecting the dots.Honestly that one paperback booklet and tape was the start of a beautiful and fruitful relationship with the Gitfiddle that's gonna last till the day i give up breathing.Bravo Doug Marks!!
Did anyone go to the clinic a while back with Hal Leonard author Greg Koch? He said that staying current was still a big problem for them. They brought him in to freshen up their guitar program and he had to fight to put in Clapton licks 25 years after Cream came out.
