Keith, I wish Joe Paterno was as great a man as you claim that you would have been in his position.

How do you know that? He never took one single step to find out, building the legacy was way more important to him. When allegations, investigations and prohibitions against showering with young boys at PSU facilities were out there, Joepa did not find out why. That alone is very disturbing. That is why he was fired and his family estate might be wiped out by civil suits in the very near future.Bag wrote:Joe did not know Sandusky was having SEX with kids.
This is debunked by the Freeh report.undercoverjoe wrote:He never took one single step to find out,Bag wrote:Joe did not know Sandusky was having SEX with kids.

Yea, Joe didn't know.
The Paterno family is saying anything to try and protect the money. It is all at risk in the coming civil trials according to lawyers. It was all about the legacy, now its all about the estate.Bag wrote:"Like most pedophiles who go undetected for years, Sandusky was a terrific liar.RobTheDrummer wrote:A goddamn child molester got away with it for 20+ goddamn years........

As the Paterno family points out, “He fooled everyone — law enforcement, his family, coaches, players, neighbors, university officials and everyone at the Second Mile.” And that is true.
Getting updates from Curley?????, he was one of the enablers!!!lonewolf wrote:This is debunked by the Freeh report.undercoverjoe wrote:He never took one single step to find out,Bag wrote:Joe did not know Sandusky was having SEX with kids.
According to the emails, Paterno was asking for and getting updates from Curley.
It doesn't say exactly what all Curley told him, but there is absolutely nothing anywhere from any source that comes close to even implying that Paterno did not get an explanation for the new policies regarding Sandusky. Not a damned thing. Nothing. Zero. Nada. Nic.
I don't even remotely see where you come up with this particular point.

They don't need to protect anything. Paterno was praised for his Grand Jury testimony. (By the prosecution)undercoverjoe wrote:The Paterno family is saying anything to try and protect the money. You really think that is going to protect the family estate from the civil suit attorneys? Oh, he testified under penalty of perjury, so we will ignore the family millions, which was built from the legacy, which depended on looking the other way instead of protecting children.Bag wrote:They don't need to protect anything. The truth of what was going on at those revered PSU Football facilities would have taken focus off of achieving that legacy. We all know which one was more important.lonewolf wrote: No Joe, I guess not. undercoverjoe wrote:So Joepa really didn't want to know the real truth.
All I can get from this is that you are secretly writing for The Onion and trying it out on me first.
From what little nugget of info does this logical conclusion stem? I would be most interested in seeing the algorithm that led you to it.

If they are going to do it, I am hoping that it is for no more than one year. Anything longer than that will cripple the University and town.undercoverjoe wrote:NCAA president won't take Penn State death penalty 'off the table'

I think we would have to have a suicide watch organized for the local PSU apologists if this were to happen.
Why does the current football program(or any of the other athletic programs for that matter) have to suffer with more shit than they already have? These kids that are playing now along with the new coaching staff had NOTHING do to with what has happened. Hell, the current students enrolled there now are paying the penalties as well.f.sciarrillo wrote:If they are going to do it, I am hoping that it is for no more than one year. I fully agree with you, Scott. It is a punishment on the students who had nothing to do with the situation at hand. The few that are responsible ruined it for them. But there is nothing you can do when the NCAA makes statements like: "we aren't ruling out the death penalty". I am just trying to look at this optimistically, and letting the NCAA do what they have to do to get the university on the path to heal.onegunguitar wrote:Why does the current football program(or any of the other athletic programs for that matter) have to suffer with more shit than they already have?
