Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the June 24 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to our guest via phone this week, Harrisburg native and national recording artist Jeffrey Gaines (www.jeffreygaines.com). Jeffrey issues his new CD, Live in Europe, on June 26; we previewed the disc by playing numerous songs from it, and heard Jeffrey offer thoughts and perspective on the songs, his 2010 European tour with Joe Jackson which spawned the CD, his creative process and more! Along the way, we debuted a new song from Well Strung. We also updated “Local Music News,” dug into the archive to pull out a 1998 song by Huntingdon’s Copasetic, and reviewed Ron Gallucci’s Dizzyland CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”
Here is this week's playlist (with family ties in parentheses):

On our next program, we welcome singer Brittany Berkebile and guitarist Josh Maurizio from young Johnstown rockers Allegory! Allegory recently won the third annual “Battle of the Acoustics” competition at Northern Cambria’s City Hotel, and won their guest appearance on this week’s program as part of their prize package! We’ll get acquainted with Brittany and Josh, learn Allegory’s story, hear recorded songs from the group, and Brittany and Josh will bring acoustic guitars and play some songs live as well! We will also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for yet another “Local Music Flashback,” and review J.D. Eicher & the Goodnights’ Shifting CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Brittany and Josh of Allegory join us on the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!
