HOMEGROWN ROCKER 6/17/12 (FATHER'S DAY SPECIAL)

Post by Jim Price »

Hello Everyone,

Here is the recap of the June 17 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).

This week, we again celebrated Father’s Day with our annual Father’s Day Special! We celebrated local and regional music family traditions, hearing from dads, moms, sons and daughters who create music in our region, including a few family bands and both generations of musicians playing on the same songs! Along the way, we debuted a new song from Peter Wolf. We also updated “Local Music News,” and reviewed Kim and Ed Rhoades’ Promises CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”

Here is this week's playlist (with family ties in parentheses):

On our next program, we welcome our guest via phone, Harrisburg native and national recording artist Jeffrey Gaines! We’ll hear thoughts and perspective from Jeffrey as he prepares to issue his new live CD, [u[Live in Europe[/u], later this month. We’ll find out about the tour from which the disc was recorded, hear Jeffrey’s thoughts on his music and creative process, and hear tracks from the new disc as well! We will also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for yet another “Local Music Flashback,” and review Ron Gallucci’s Dizzyland CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Jeffrey Gaines joins us via phone on the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!
