Has Central PA gone all Load-era Metallica on us?

Post by bassist_25 »

Ever since I've known Mr. Kent Tonkin, he has had a mane that would make Fabio envious. He chopped it off a few weeks ago. Then I saw a picture of Jason Straw last week, and he has short hair now too. Most recently, Bushy has chopped his doo as well.

Is this a musician-wide initiative to donate to Locks of Love or are all of these musicians gearing up to ditch their thrashy roots and release albums of bluesy alt. metal with more than a tinge of COC influence?

Sorry, Paul. I may have started this recent regression. I chopped pretty much all of mine off a few months back. Jae Smith(Deathmaster) from Emporium/Crow In The Snow just lopped a good bit off, too.

Don't consider it the Metallica move, we're just streamlining the rock!
Although, I can't believe Bushy would do it.

Have you seen Hair Force One lately? Those dudes all got crew cuts. Although I suspect that some of them don't really have crew cuts and are actually wearing wigs.

Trust me. Despite Bushy's new look, we are far from going soft on ya!! If anything its getting heavier. :D

Hahaha..nice post Paul!! I decided to cut my hair because I was getting tired of pissing with it......it definitely has nothing to do with my taste for music......I'll ALWAYS be a metal head,LOL!! I donated it to Locks of Love,it was my second time. The first time was 14 inches and this time it was 17 inches. I figured some young kid needed it more than I do. :D :D

Every so often, I would cut off 14-16 inches about the time it got to my waist. I would still have more than enough to pull it back. Last time, I had them cut it off as close to my scalp as possible. I always donated it.

Not sure if this counts, but I shaved my back hair off this summer.

Thread of the year. This is just too f'n funny in general. Load era Metallica is actually a term. And Paul used it. With authority.

I haven't shaved my head since the Army. Don't see it happening anytime soon, either...unless there's some serious $$$ or liquor involved.

No, that's not a challenge.

I know that I'm probably in the minority, but I actually like Load and ReLoad.

Each album has a few good songs, I'm not gonna lie. I chuckled at work all day over that title, and I get home and I'm still laughing.

About the only albums from Metallica that I don't like "Now" is St. Anger (Even they hate that one) and LuLu. The rest of them have some songs that I like. But I still think their best ones were pre "And Justice For All..."

Of course I say this now that I have a new respect for Metallica. And I think we all still agree that Ulrich is a whiny little bitch?

So am I the last guy on this board with long hair or what? I've had it since 1971 and so if I'm the last one around, I'll just wait until the style changes back again and then be ahead of the times!

(If I still have any left!)
