Either the original version of You've Got A Friend by Carole King or the James Taylor version.

There are many acoustic based songs that I dig, and while I'm not a purist, for this thread, I'll stick with songs that are entirely acoustic...at least acoustic in the mainstream sense (i.e., pickups and microphones are okay).

Two true genuises of the acoustic guitar, both on the Candyrat label...

Andy McKee:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSnWhsml ... ure=relmfu

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS ... re=related

Antoine Dufour:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGxWETZi ... ure=relmfu

Punch Brothers...features the former mandolinist of Nickel Creek...this Strokes cover is incredible:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qayc6yJXG-8

Bonnie Riatt's Fred McDowell tribute:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-xjhiNpAkw

Chet Atkins and Leo Kottle doing the standard, Sleep Walk...I assume this is Priarie Home Compansion since Garrison Keeler introduces them...the comedy's cheesy, but PHC features a lot of great acoustic music:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5oExc78IKE

Wilson Gomes...a relative unknown, I discovered him last year...he appears to be jazz trained, but he does a lot of 12-tone serial music...it knocks me out how much he can make this stuff swing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HWra3di ... ure=relmfu

...and he needs no introduction...probably the greatest acoustic guitarist of all time:

And just for fun...

"He's the electric horseman, you better back off!" - old sKool making a reference to the culturally relevant 1979 film.

My dad is HUGE Gordon Lightfoot fan. Carefree Highway came on at work and I was singing it. Everyone was looking at me weird cause I knew the song!

I'll admit it, I'm a huge John Denver fan, so I'm probably biased when I say this, but he's written some amazing acoustic music:
Annie's Song: http://youtu.be/C21G2OkHEYo
Country Roads: http://youtu.be/MWzeInQaUk4

Same goes for Jim Croce:
I've Got a Name: http://youtu.be/YcqauC49Xmc
Time in a Bottle: http://youtu.be/dO1rMeYnOmM

Also, pretty much anything by Simon and Garfunkel is amazing, but alot of the folk music coming out of the late 60's and 70's was great acoustic stuff too.
The Boxer is my favorite of them though: http://youtu.be/AdKjEHfHINQ

This was the favorite of my father's old 33's as a kid, but I would always cry at the end. Puff the Magic Dragon by Peter, Paul, and Mary: http://youtu.be/3OiOlnoyljk

Of course, Blackbird by the Beatles: http://youtu.be/P5CUHHGlQg0

Regression by Dream Theater is beautiful, albeit short(in fact, that whole album is amazing). The music starts at about the 1 minute mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x29pdFce1g0

Classical Gas is awesone, but I think someone already posted a link to it so I won't bother, same with Thick as a Brick by Tull.

Strangely enough, I've always thought Patience by GNR was pretty cool (despite having to listen to Axle singing over it): http://youtu.be/ErvgV4P6Fzc

Thats all I can think of at the moment.
