Ha! Yeah, Steve's occasionally busted out a few shitty tones over the years. That's about the only aspect of his playing I can emulate!

A composer is a guy who goes around forcing his will on unsuspecting air molecules, often with the assistance of unsuspecting musicians. -Frank Zappa

"I don't take compliments very easily, I think most musicians suffer from low self-esteem to some extent." -James Taylor

"Between sets I'd sneak over to the black places to hear blues musicians. It got to the point where I was making my living at white clubs and having my fun at the other places." -SRV

And one for my political friends:
"Musicians can run this state better than politicians. We won't get a lot of work done in the mornings, but we'll work late and be honest." -Kinky Friedman

"Artist-musicians, painters, writers, poets, always seem to have had the most accurate perception of what is really going on around them, not the official version of the popular perception of contemporary life." -Billy Joel

One day, a son asked hi bassist father, "Dad, guitar players get to play chords. Do bass players ever use chords?" The father said, " Yes, but not all the time like guitarists, because when you hit a chord on a bass, a shock wave rolls out from the stage, causing drinks to be rattled off of tables, and people's hair gets blown back like a breeze, possibly causing some damage." In awe, the son asked, but doesn't that happen to guitarists too?" His father replied, "No son, they don't trust just anybody with that level of power."

"Writing songs is like trying to squeeze a watermelon out of your ass. And you would think after having done it hundreds of times, the aperture would get wider and they'd just sort of start falling out of you. But it doesn't. In fact as you go on it rather... puckers." - Nick Cave
