I love "HEAD".
I love "HEAD".
Anyone know that Brian Welch, better know as HEAD quit the band. What band...KORN...13 years. Seems, this tool found Jesus and has recently been baptized in the Jordan River in Isreal. Not only has he found Jesus, Head now looks like him. He is planning on releasing more music without Korn. His songs are about God saying things to him. His music is going to be used to heal people - quotes from Welch. Good luck pal. Let us know what it's like when you fall off the map!

I don't begrudge someone their religious beliefs. I'm not a religious person at all, and can see your skepticism, but I can't begin to judge him for looking for fulfillment. Plus, being baptized in the Jordan, that ain't foolin' around! I just hope he doesn't get taken by some televangelist or something.
Maybe falling off the map is what he wants... having people in your face all the time is probably tiring, hell I get tired of folks even on a local weekend-warrior level. Korn's had a pretty good run, I first heard them on my last trip to Disney World in '95, and called JP when I got home to tell him about this band they played on the radio every hour or so. Cool that I'm heading back down next month, and we're still talking about Korn! A decade in rock & roll is like a lifetime.---->JMS

What's all of this talk about Tool? Tool's one of my favorite bands. I was just listening to Lateralus today - great album! I really like the production on it.
Oh wait, we're talking about Head from Korn. Hey, Cat Stevens stepped away from music to pursue his faith. If Head wants to quit Korn and do the same then who are we to judge? Besides, Korn's running out of Faith No More riffs to steal and that Pink Floyd cover they did was just God-awful (no pun intended). The ego's, drugs, attitudes, tough breaks, and fake-ass people you have to deal with on the local level is enough to drive many players into retirement; I can't see how any mentally healthy person can remain in the big time for any extended duration.

Head said that he wanted out from the Life Is Peachy album - so this isn't something that has just come up. I read an article saying that he was trying to leave since then, but the band kept talking him into staying.
::Shurgs:: Life Is Peachy was the last good Korn album anyway, Head leaving isn't going to hurt them.

Good for him for evolving and getting a life.
CUNTS will be CUNTS.
I'm not bashing him on his belief. I'm bashing him because he's still going to be doing music, but now he's listening to the voices from above and will be writing "healing" music. I think Head found the "dope" instead of faith.
I was bashing him on his thought process...nothing more.

I can't say that what Head did is really all that bad. Think about it:
He has made all the money he wants with Korn.
They aren't really any good anymore (Life is Peachy is the last good album)
After experiencing 13 years of the band, he's probably had it with dealing with all the crap.
I don't think he made a mistake. If that's what he believes, good for him for standing up for his beliefs. Plus if he's not into it, his inspiration to write good music for the band is probably not there (which may be why the band hasn't been good since LIP. He's wanted out since then. Just a hunch) so why continue to do it if there's nothing there to do it with?
Although some part of me wonders if this was just a ploy to get Korn's name back in the papers....

If youth knew; if age could.
Like Fred Durst did when Wes left?Punkinhead wrote:Although some part of me wonders if this was just a ploy to get Korn's name back in the papers....
probabaly not their intention, but it will have a bit of that effect.
Speaking of Fred, did anyone else around here go to that joke-of-an-audition/publicity stunt for Bizkit when it came around?

I heard that you had to sign a contract before you auditioned that stated anything you played became legal property of Limp Bizkit. I don't know if that was true or not, but that's some shady stuff if it were. Can you imagine going to an audition for a band and then hearing on the new single a riff you had played?Mo Lester wrote:Speaking of Fred, did anyone else around here go to that joke-of-an-audition/publicity stunt for Bizkit when it came around?

I'd just go in and audition playing someone else's song.

yep, that's the way it was, and you had 60 seconds to strut it. I went to one in Rockville, MD, and everyone there was quite unhappy about the vibe when they realized what the deal was. It totally ruined your mindset right before you went in. they claimed that if anything was used and became successful, you would be compensated, but, who knows? they video taped it all, so they could dig into that material whenever they run dry....................bassist_25 wrote:I heard that you had to sign a contract before you auditioned that stated anything you played became legal property of Limp Bizkit. Actually, I think that was another stipulation in the contract: everything you played had to be original. I think there was also another piece of fine print in there that said you couldn't play solos.Victor Synn wrote:
