No bashing from me... However, those " irresponsible " parents passed around earplugs.... That seemed pretty responsible to me.KeithReynolds wrote:I think its horribly irresponsible for the parents to have little kids at events like that. Loud music damages little ears. Bash me if you will. Its just my opinion.
Atleast some people used their heads. Im sure alot of them were brought without plugs, and someone just happened to have them. Ive played all age shows that didnt pass out ear plugs. I hate all age shows. I was just saying I think there needs to be a limit and low volume. You know how bands feel about low volume.Maniacal Melody wrote:No bashing from me... Valid points to be considered and helpful to some who may not have thought of such things. I just think that if you opt to play at an all age show you should be respectful and not say hateful things that could offend and hurt those same children who are there.KeithReynolds wrote:Atleast some people used their heads. Very true.... I know I am constantly telling my kids to turn down their ipods! You know it's way TOO loud when you can hear their music and they have earbuds in!rockstar wrote:rock and roll is to be played loud whats the difference if your in a car with your kids and you turn up the cd player up and have big ass subs? same thing in my opinion at least their the sound can travel unlike in a car.
Not all shows are the same and not every place that holds these shows is irresponsible.weibs wrote:I have been to many many many all age shows since I was about 14 and I know what goes on at alot of these places and there is no way if I had a kid I would expose him or her to some of the shit I've seen, that is why every place that has all age shows eventually
Gets shut down, but hey that's just my opinion, they are your kids not mine!
I personally have good memories of concerts my parents took me to. To each his own of course. But I have to clarify that this particular show had no death metal OR E cups....KeithReynolds wrote:I guess I am weird.
Id still never take my son to an event with live bands. Id rather not risk his ears. Maybe when he is way older and its his choice, but never before that. No thanks.
I have a memory of seeing my uncle's band when I was around 4. All I remember, is it was LOUD.
As cool as it was for whoever I was with to be seen having a kid at a show, I think it was irresponsible for me to be there. To each their own though.
I just personally dont let my interests or choices effect my child. Id like for him to be his own person. He likes Phineas & Ferb and Spongebob....not death metal and E cups. Let kids be kids. Once its gone, its gone.
Well in that case, I agree with you 100%....KeithReynolds wrote:Im not saying the show had death metal or e cups!!!if it did, i prob woulda been there.
those are some of MY interests. I was just saying that I dont want my son to like either of those just because thats what I like. I wasnt saying anything about the show with that comment.
All age shows can be a good thing I guess, but things like plenty of earplugs and barriers should be a standard at all of them. Theres a difference between an all age show at pellys and an all age show in some vfw out in the middle of nowhere.
As far as all age shows that arent in a controlled environment, I think organizers should be responsible and make sure the kids/teenagers ARENT drinking and doing drugs at the show. Sadly, thats not the case. No one is supervised.
