Calling Lonewolf ( EV mic advice )

Post by tonefight »

My wife's N/D 257 died last night, she had this for about 20 - 25 years at least. I took it apart and all wires are still together but its probably due for replacement. She wants the same mic but it doesn't look like they still make this one. Wich EV do you suggest that would be similar ?
I just had my EV that I had for 15+ years start sounding real bad on me too. I guess that time frame is still pretty good considering we just throw them in a gear bag.
Thanks in advance Jeff.

Hi Tony,

I bought 6 EV mics from this seller. Here's what he has available:

I highly recommend the ND/767A. Its worth the extra $15

Wow great price on there ! I just ordered one, was gonna order the 2 pack till I realized 1 was $69 and two were $145, would have paid an extra 5 bucks for 1 of the mics.
Thanks Jeff

I traded in probably 5 ND 257's at Music Go Round in Monroeville. The last time I looked they still had them and you can probably get them for 35 dollars a piece. They were all in good shape, I just went a different direction.

Thanks Jim but we bought the mic lonewolf suggested, she liked the ND 257 cause she had it so many years but was just happy enough with any EV.

I think those are the mics that I have, I think 2 or 3 of them. I might be willing to let one go if you still need one. I'll check when I get home.
