They are both amazing guitar players. My vote went to SRV as well. Reason being that he influenced me more than winters did.

I went Pete Townsend because I don't feel him and Krieger compare. Krieger was mostly simple riffs, where as Townsend is more technical.

If "technical" is windmilling power chords, then I agree.

lol...thats a tough one. I've dug the Dead for a long time and generally dislike Phish but they both kind of suck equally, especially after yesterdays matchup.

Well, without a doubt I'll go with Garcia. 8)

Honestly, I'm not wild about "Greatest" polls or Battle of the Band contests. They should probably call them what they really are which is "most popular among the people asked" polls.

But what's most important is, how many magazines will we sell.
Keep on keepin' on,

He uses even more different chords than Alex Lifeson. Its not evident in their hits, but take a close listen to Quadrophenia.

I went with Tony McAlpine because he is more mellow than Yngwie. I was never much inspired by Yngwie. I'm not saying that yngwie isn't a fantastic guitar player, he is. I was just never really into him.

I think Yngwie will win it though. Mostly because he is more popular than Tony.
