Wow! Again on Rockpage I can feel the love and camaraderie of the local scene!

Went and saw Hawthorne Heights the other night! Man they were good! Acoustic set of their best and some new ones...

They were cool.

Keith is a good musician and he is always doing something creative. John is a bluegrass guy (no accounting for taste! Kidding!) and by all accounts a great musician and a good guy.

In the case of Trayvon justice will be done or it won't, matter of the court system doing their thing. Sometimes it works and sometimes, well...

The conversation on here is petty, do we really have nothing else better to do?

In this corner, wearing red trunks, from the Wood of the Bells, John "Jennie" Stevens.
And in this corner, wearing green trunks, from Osceola Mills, Keith "Junior" Reynolds.
At the sound of the bell, come out fighting and keep it clean, boys.

Yep. No shit. Ive also said many times: "Lets stop this, quit bringing me up". It doesnt end. He wont stop. If someone wants to start with me, they got it. Ill go as long as someone wants. I just dont see a point. Id rather not waste my time. Its like a fly thats just annoying. Ive just been swatting.

Again, I stated my challenge to him as something just as one sided as the challenge he keeps bringing to me. something I know id win. I have no intention of actually pimpslapping him. It would never get that far. Im not stupid, clearly neither is he.
Its getting old, but again, Ill go as long as I have to.

Is Hawthorne Heights who Uneartha plays for? I hope so!

This thread is specifically the result of Keith being a frustrated bigot. Look at the TITLE of this thread, and the original topic. Obviously, underachieverjoe had to get involved, because he's a tinfoil hat with a loud opinion, and when George Zimmerman got arrested, they both did what they do best, throw a tantrum. Neither of them even want to go near the original topic, now that they're exposed. From there, it devolved into name-calling (which I rather enjoy, it flexes my writing chops), but then Swayze the Roadhouse Cooler figured he'd call the old man out. Why? I don't know, that's usually reserved for your dad, and usually results in the biggest ass-whipping you'll ever take from him, but he's a little odd, and I don't even know if he has a dad. Whatever his reasoning, he decided that his best tactic would be to make it a personal assault on me and specifically the things I'm capable of. I'm forty-eight years old. Pick anybody over 40 on this forum, and tell them they don't know what they're doing, see what happens.
I play more shows in an average month than he has in his entire life. I played rock & roll in a time before the internet, or filesharing, or social networking, or GPS or cellphones turned it into a cakewalk. Back when studio time was double what it is now, and you couldn't record in your living room without 10 grand in gear. Back when the other band on a double-bill would steal your gear, not help you carry it in. Back when people followed you around in department stores for having long hair, and that hair meant no day job. I don't want to hear how 3 gigs and a digital recorder make you the authority. Too many people worked too hard for too long to be dismissed for something they wore 25 years ago.
It's all bait-and-switch anyway, because Swayze was wrong about a guy who killed a kid for buying Skittles. It hurt him, to have said all that bigoted stuff. If he was more mature, perhaps he'd have held a wider view.
All that said, I'm 48, not 88. My voice is stronger than it was in 1984, and I have thousands of shows to draw from since then. Pretty much all the other guys my age who still play, are at the top of their game. Felix and I are the same age. Is he past his prime? No!
I accept whatever challenge is set before me, and I'm not afraid to issue some, either. Dismiss me at your own risk, I have 20 more years left in me, at least.
Now, let's discuss the original topic.

We are going to leave it at that. I can say more of what ive said to you. I can type a reply to you, but you will just dance around it. Youre wrong about me and what youve said. You call me a "bigot" because what I said doesnt agree with what YOU think. Who gives a shit? I dont have to prove anything to you. I know what i am and what im not.
Theres nothing more I have to say to you. You know how I feel about you. You know what I think you are. If you wanna run your mouth more to me, send me a pm. ;) When I DONT get any messages from you, Ill know its just because you are waving a flag here or some shit. Please stop talking about me. This thread hasnt been locked for some weird reason, and I fear youre just baiting me to get banned. Youre arent worth that shit. ;) If you have a problem, be a man and pm. Lets handle it.

You are ignoring your challenge to my tax status. Come up with the cashiers check or apologize for your potty mouth. If you are right, like you always think you are about every subject, you have nothing to lose. I am making it very easy.

BTW, I am 58 and past my prime. My challenges to you stand until you grow a backbone.

If this thread delivered any more than it already does, it would have to put a light up Domino's sign on its roof and inexplictily park in front of houses where MILFs answer the door with generic 70s funk music playing in the background.

Hell, no! However, I've told you personally several times, not everybody's doing it like you are. You already have more stage time than Swayze. You're one of the few who understood dues-paying from the get-go. You're not on here busting the old guys for being irrelevant, you're onstage with the old guys... learning. Felix had to bring people in the hard way. He deserves props for that, don't you think?

i agree, but there are some of us that use every outlet to get people to shows. from social media to word of mouth. networking is more than sitting behind a computer. i just don't want you to think that all of the younger generation has it easy (or has taken the easy route). i've been paying dues and will continue to until i die. so it kinda got under my skin with the cakewalk thing. thats all. nothing personal. :D

Nope, I don't do PM's with you. You have a history of chopping them up and posting them anyway. People need to see how you operate. PM-land is for friends only, and the rules here specifically say you're not to discuss them, if I recall.
And I stand just as much chance of being banned as you, fair is fair, and I'd accept it without a whimper.
Huey, I have your check for your fantasy tax bill, beat me onstage to claim it. (dead silence)
Swayze, you're a bigot because you KNEW Trayvon was guilty of something, you're a bigot because you KNEW Zimmerman had the right to kill him, and you're a bigot because you KNEW rap music was responsible. Busting my abilities is just subterfuge, and when I challenged you: (dead silence)
Uneartha, I don't know you, but I don't back down, regardless. I know what I can do, and this old man remains willing to rise to the challenge. Remember, I've been your age, but you've never been my age.

To anyone else who thinks they're going to take something from me: You can't. Dues paid are non-refundable. The younger, less-experienced people here will either figure that out as their career matures, or their career will fade. Unpaid dues mean nothing. Your rockstar daydreams are just your invitation to the party, you still have to pay to get in. A few of my local heroes are still in there, still swinging, still paying those dues. Tom Rhodes has an old picture of himself with a Beatle haircut, from 1964. By today's standards it might look a little silly, but he's still playing, and doing well. Jim Mosey used to do an Elvis show, and lots of people consider that corny, but he's still playing, and he's one of my heroes. Dickie Kos posted a pic the other day of himself looking like a 70's leather-clad rock-god, and some of you would roll your eyes, but he's still playing, as good as he ever was. Now some of you see a picture my longtime-friend JP posted in fun, and because I best you on here regularly, you turn it into an indictment of the dues I've had to pay?
Shame on you.
I hope you all have as much fun and success as I've had. I hope you all get life-long friends, and make memories for when you're old. I hope each of you sees the things I've seen, get as much applause, and know the artistic satisfaction I get. I earned it, and not a single one of you can take any of it away from me. Now earn YOURS, or shut up.

Better company than you any morning!

Get the cashiers check and have someone there take a pic and post it. When I have verified that you have not lied (as is your nature) and not chickened out, we can get this thing rolling. Give the cashiers check to a third party to hold. You can pic some of your coworkers and guitar teachers to verify the tax return.

If you are right, you keep the check, so you have nothing to lose. Lets see if your vagina was right, or are you full of shit like on every other post you ever made.

If you are wrong, I get the check. Then we commence the MMA action, cage or stage, your choice. If you are not hospitalized by then, we will play some Allman Brothers tunes.
