What would be in your rider?

Post by Mysterytrain »

If you have a signed contract to play at a venue, what are some riders you would include?

Have the stage cleared of unnecessary items - chairs, tables, other bands gear....

During winter months shovel and salt the steps going in the side stage door. (or in the case of a bar up the mountain, scoop up the dog shit)

In the case of a cover/ticket charge, total of non-paying guests.

Merchandise details.

What else?

And yes, strange requests are welcome too. :D
Keep on keepin' on,
Dan

Realistic:
- parking for band truck and band members
- space to play
- space for sound guy
- power

-------------------------
Others (some funny, some far fetched, some serious)
- ability to drive into festivals and park next to stage
- no bingo machines on stage
- no eating delicious food in front of us while we play
- no announcing bingo numbers through a radio shack bull horn while we play
- coverage from weather
- tell me where the room lights are before we play
- don't make us drive the band truck through wet muddy fields
- make the band before us get their shit off the stage before they start bullshitting with the audience
- no seating blue heads up close to the band and the younger folk in the back
- no talking to me about non-essentials issues if I look like I'm busy setting up
- no coffee burners plugged in to any band circuits
- if the doors open at 7, open the doors at 7, not 6:30
- seriously - no food or drinks by the mixer

Advertise the show!

Don't put our name on the marquee after wednesday wings night and think that's promotion!
...Oh, the freedom of the day that yielded to no rule or time...

Doesn't sound far fetched at all! Funny how often it happens.
