I dont know the details. No one does except the man who pulled the trigger! If a Black security guard gunned down a white teenager Im sure this whole thread would be a little different!
Where are Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and Obama on this

Thats Metal vs Rap right there.
The issue isnt even about the shooting anymore. Its about how fucking stupid society has become.
Nope. I'm comparing how stupid you think a hip-hop fan is to how stupid people think some of us are for having tattoos and liking metal. People with tattoos sometimes do bad things. It's not a rap thing.
Please tell me you aren't saying all rap fans are inherently criminal, and all metal fans are nice guys.
Nope. Id have to be a moron to say that.
Rap music CONSTANTLY tells people how awesome it is to murder, steal, fight, fuck, sell drugs, do drugs, drink, and a bunch of other shit.
It reaches MILLIONS of people of all ages who want to act like the way the songs portray life. Not 1 or 2 or 10 songs...almost every fucking song. The people DO exactly what their heroes rap about.
OBVIOUSLY people are fucked up and do crazy things anyway, but if you add up all the crimes committed that was influenced by the shit ass rap music, youd have quite a number. Theres a fucking problem there. Metal doesnt glorify or tell people to go out commit crimes. Nor does country, r&b, jazz, blues, rock, hard rock, classical, electronic, disco, oldies or whatever else.
When my son is able to decide what music he likes, rap will be off the table.
He WILL NOT BE ABLE to listen to music that tells him how cool it is to sell cocaine, shoot rivals, fuck whores in the bathroom at bars, or steal cars. Thats just a few of the topics thats covered all the time. Im all about being an individual and being yourself, but some things cross the line. Just my opinion.

yeah
Sad, that this is what it is. I hope that if one of our children (community) get shot and killed by someone defending himself that we are a little more sympathetic. I know my children have made mistakes I just hope that no ones chase3s and guns them down for it and then does not get arrested. We are all so quick to judge seems awesome that we are all so smart. I am the luckiest man alive to live in this area of the world where I am surrounded by the all knowing.
Just saying...
I guess the best thing we can hope for is maybe someone , someday will investigate this thing. In the mean time I would only suggest that you look as closely at the white guy and his long record as you want to look at the 17 year old kid and his school file..
The guy is just a fucking loser with a gun, really? And he shot a kid (could of been yours).. plan and simple shit don't FAUX news it all up, just look at it for yourself. Tired of listening to the buzzwords from your 24 hour news channel, try some common sense and then if you agree with killing children who look dangerous, I guess that is your business.
Ooohh I am so afraid of that 17 year old kid, good thing I have this 9 mm to shoot if If I am too scaredy of him, ooohhh. This guy deserves to fucking fry just for being a super pussy. OooH I am the meighborhood watch guy with a gun! OOoooHHH... I don;t know but I would like yo kick this guys ass...

Dave, the guy probably had no idea that the kid was 17. The kid should have just left, the guy wouldn't have shot him if he wasn't attacking him. I'm not trying to justify Zimmerman's actions, who knows, he could have probably used less force than deadly, but it's a lot too late now.
This whole thing reminds me of Dave Chappelle's when keeping it real goes wrong.
And Dave, why do you say "white" guy? He is hispanic. If it's not a race issue, then why is everyone making it one?

That, my friend is rap vs. metal, one genre versus another. You have made your decision about the Trayvon Martin case based on your opinion of rap music. There are metal songs (and videos) that feature all those crimes. You're not going to convince me that your fave style of music has never been involved with sex, drugs, and doing stupid stuff. I was there. I've seen mountains of cocaine, weed, crank, pills, crazy sexcapades, vandalism, etc., metal is far from angelic. No genre of music is completely innocent.KeithReynolds wrote:

Also, based on my own experience and what I've observed, banning rap in your house, with a boy especially, pretty much guarantees he'll want to listen to it. I wasn't allowed to listen to Kiss, my parents were VERY strict about that stuff... and I made my decision to be a musician at age 14 while listening to "Hard Luck Woman" on a small tube radio with the speaker against my ear. You have every right to censor what your boy listens to, but you & I have stubbornness in common, and I bet he will, too.
The point is, teenage boys (and Huey) posture, it's what they do. Wearing a hoodie and pretending to be tough doesn't make you a criminal, nor is it reason to be shot.

Duh, I guess that is why the state of Florida appointed a special prosecutor to investigate over a week ago.
He listed his race as Latino on his voting form. He speaks Spanish and his mother is from Peru. NOT A WHITE GUY.
Why are liberals trying so hard to make this a white vs black race issue???
Why are neoconservatives trying to dismiss this because the kid was black? The racist view that it's okay to harrass black kids buying Skittles? Racist retribution for perceived crimes against whites (a la joey)? Or the racist idea that black kids should not be so stupid as to visit a convenience store in a gated community?
Zimmerman has a history of calling 911 for things he sees as crimes, like black people being on white people's property, open garage doors, etc., and called 911 roughly once a week. This establishes a pattern of behavior towards blacks. The 911 tape CLEARLY contains a racial slur (it's bleeped out on Fox News), establishing a mindset at the time of the crime. The police video does not corroborate his story that he was viciously beaten and injured, so self-defense should be questioned as a motive, especially when factored in with the previous points. Zimmerman was carrying a gun, as a neighborhood watchman, which is AGAINST police advice. This may be illegal in and of itself, regardless of CCW permits, and he should be charged.
The bottom line is that an unarmed black kid was shot. He had committed no crime, yet he was followed and reported before being shot to death. If you followed ME around like that, or if I followed YOU and harrassed you, somebody would be pissed enough for fisticuffs. Zimmerman followed Martin, we know that. The difference was that Zimmerman is a chicken-shit, and had to pull his gun.

No one is dismissing this. We are reacting to racists like YOU, the Kenyan Race Huckster, Sharpton, Jackson and everyone on MSNBC. They are trying as hard as they can to make this a white vs black crime and racism.
No white guy was involved. But you racists keep trying to make that the script.
Black on white crime in reality is much more prevalent in the country but all leftist racists conveniently ignore that fact.

I havent made my opinion on the case based on music. I was just pointing out that ALOT of people act out the lifestyle they hear about in a billion songs.
Im not saying metal is innocent, BUT, I think what youre referring to as "metal" is "hair metal"...which isnt even metal. It is rock. None of it was metal. None of that big hair spandex shit is metal in the least.
So, im not exactly sure you know the lyrical content of REAL METAL. Google will help that though. You can find all sorts of examples that will support every side.
Metal is just one genre i like. I like way more than that, but the reason metal fits into this debate, as it was accused of suggesting things to people BACKWARDS. People had a cow and a half over the possibility of BACKWARDS messages. Rap puts it right out in front so you can all hear loud and clear...."sell crack, fuck bitches and take what you want".
Do you see the difference?
I kept my mouth shut about this case for so long. It just getting stupid. Al Sharpton needs to STFU. People like him are inciting racial hate & violence. Also, Trayvon's parents need to STFU too because his mom TRADEMARKED phrases with his name in it. WHY would she do that?? Oh yeah, so she can MAKE MONEY from the death of her son. Are you fucking kidding me?
His parents are to blame for the whole thing anyway. Dont be afraid to take an active role in your child's life. See what they are doing and correct the bad shit.
So many kids get away with acting like fools because parents dont think there is a prob or dont care...OR do the same shit themselves.

GOOD FOR HER!!
Perhaps you're right... when kids are shot buying Skittles, the parents are always to blame.
As for your OPINIONS about what's metal, and who kicks ass, and the 30+ year-old genre known as rap suddenly dying... they're you're opinions, and worth only as much as the next guy's. We all know who your fave is, and have moved on. Your opinion is just your opinion, mine carries at least as much weight. We get it. You don't like rap music. It's not a death-penalty offense.

You are a NUT.

You have NO CLUE to the extent or depth of the (even local) crime underworld, so dont act like you do. You'd shit your little panties if you saw some of the shit I have or been in my shoes during certain times. I assure you that, Mr local rockstarguy.
It hasnt affected you personally, so you dont see a problem. Maybe if some thug has a gun to your head one day, youll get why feeding that rap culture stereotype is dangerous.
George Zimmerman was prob even banging out some fresh jamz before he strapped on his gun and went out that night. Its a fucking problem. It has nothing to do with favorites. You dont even know what my favorite ANYTHING is, besides maybe Type O Negative, and thats because Ive shouted that on rooftops.
About my opinions of what is metal or not, im pretty sure anyone who REALLY knows music will agree that fucking bands like Winger ARE NOT METAL.

Okay Mr Expert. You hate rap, and are a leading authority on the criminal underworld. We got ya.
The truth is, with every post in this thread, you're seeming more and more like Zimmerman. Think about that and let it sink in.
Now, I'd like to fucking clue you in on something, Junior: I was playing Motorhead, Raven, and oldschool Metallica when you were shitting green in your diapers. Hell, when Poison and Winger came along, I even QUIT playing metal, in favor of classic rock... about 3-4 years before everybody else did. You can sit at your little keyboard and pretend your opinions are fact, but I LIVED it. I have numerous DEAD friends, and my last metal band ended when the entire road crew was either in jail, going to jail, or testifying before a grand jury. They weren't there for ripping the tags off mattresses, you ninny.
Before you rely on the 4 or 5 shows you've played in your LIFE, you need to ask yourself, could somebody with nearly 3 decades of life in the business have ever had any contact with a bad element? Think, son, THINK.
If not hating rap music makes me a NUT, what does your romantic devotion to Type O Negative make you? It makes you a joe, is that what you strive for? A little man with a big OPINION, who can't tell the difference between what is real, and how he feels about what is real.
You don't like rap. Big Deal. You accept the stereotype of the Angry Black Man, and you FEAR it. Good for you. The stereotype still exists for two reasons: Fear is an excellent motivator; and the end result is you leaving them alone. Well, you go ahead and be afraid. It ages you before your time, you already sound like an old man, complaining about black people as if they're all criminals being corrupted by that new-fangled MUSIC with their hippity-hops and their pants on the ground.
Of course, I could use a new joe around here...

Yeah, another legend in their own mind. YAY!!!!! Go figure.
Should I type a paragraph of insults like you just did? because im sure thats a senior citizen hatecrime.
If you think im a little man or afraid, youre wrong. If you think I hate black people, youre an even a bigger moron than I thought.
Ive played more than 5 shows dude. Have I played 30 years of shows? Nope. I STILL HAVE TIME LEFT. DO YOU? nope.
I dont like playing shows though. I dont have a need to feel like a rockstar. I dont need attention like that. I have no bloated old man's ego. ITS MY CHOICE.
If you REALLY wanna start some internet nerd war with me, YOU WILL LOSE. Dont compare me to any of your other internet "rivals". I am not them.
Dont call me son or junior. I am not your son or your junior. My dad has balls.
Just because im not fucking 60 like you doesnt mean I dont know what im talking about. Thats where all you oldies go wrong. You think that life is all about "puttin yer dues in". Yeah, you may have 30 years on me now, but where will you be in 30? Where will I be? Check back with me in 30 yrs from either the senior center or a ouija board. Ill give you an update. Best part is, I wont have to wear spandex.
Please dont act like you know so much about me. I havent posted how much ive done and my life story several times on this site like you have. You only know what you ASSUME about me. I know about you from your own typing. From the hairspray debauchercy days to greasy gangbangs at the senior center. We all know it all, you constantly tell us about your amazing career as a PA musician.
If you think I FEAR the rap culture stereotype, you are wrong again. Im around it all the time, you twat. Most of my black friends fall into the stereotype we are talking about. They KNOW I dont like rap or senseless violence. I have no problem telling them how I feel. I dont get all weirded out around black people as you prob do. You prob put the lil deathgrip on yer lil wallet. Of course, you prob stay out of areas in which the REAL thugs go. so, i guess theres not much to fear at the music emporium.
btw, Dont you have a banjo to string up or something?
In all honesty, I dont want an internet war with you like you have with several others on here. I have much better shit to do than to argue with you every day on here. I guess I will if you really want to.

Let the games begin.
Peter Steele was a full year older than me. He posed for Playgirl. Playgirl's readership is only 23% female, so do the math. I wouldn't do that, I'm not gay.
He acknowledged a massive cocaine and alcohol addiction. Never tried that stuff, myself, guess I'm not 'metal,' because I survived it all. I guess I was just too stupid, looking at all that coke and saying, "No."
Perhaps you're right, the decades of actual experience I've accrued is a joke compared to what you've accomplished, and Lord, knows, I haven't done anything since 1990. I stand in awe of your deejay skills, and all the amazing things you've done, and I just apologize ever-so-much for insinuating that I might have some insight that you don't, with all your years of experience, both in music, and life itself. I'm sure the other veteran musicians and sixty-somethings here agree with me that your opinion IS fact, and cannot be questioned. Congratulations on having an un-named black friend, it certainly qualifies you as an expert on race-relations, and in no way do your posts make things sound otherwise.

Its a failed weeny ass attempt to say "he is a DJ, hate on him". Its a fucking job. Id do alot of things for a job. Ive done all sorts of things. Its the first time ive ever done anything like that. Would you rather I be on welfare or something? I didnt have to take the time to justify shit to you, but I did because having a job is important is it not? The fact that I DJ/Enforce at a local bar is whatever is it. I play rap music alll night, 4 nights a week and I dont bitch.
My friends there enjoy it and its my job, so whatever. They all know that I dont like rap.

Just to spite your lil munchin ass, my big ass is gonna take pics tonight of me and friends of mine. Im even going to explain to them that it was claimed I have an "un-named black FRIEND".
Ive recorded several rappers, and sadly 2 of them are in jail now...BUT they chose that gangsta life. Friends or not, they chose it.
You just ASSUME im some scared little white boy afraid of what I dont understand. NO, im a big white boy that knows EXACTLY what goes on and knows why it is a problem.
I may only be 31, mr rockstar, but ive been around. just because im not posting all day about it on a forum to gain "respect" doesnt mean anything. Im not even talking about being a local rockstar...which you always go back to. I guess thats all you have in life is your legend status. where do you even get your hats??
We have different personalities, I dont have a need to be on a stage and have people looking at what I can do. Im perfectly fine doing what I do behind closed doors. Its my CHOICE. If I WANTED to be on stage every night, I could. Anyone could.
Can we stop this now?? If you are supposed to bow to me...why do you keep insulting me?!

PS- Calling me Junior really doesnt bother me.

"7 California boys arrested in attack on teen"
"Seven black teens have been arrested on suspicion that they committed a hate crime when they attacked a 15-year-old Hispanic boy while he was walking home from school in Southern California, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office."

Think those teens have not been following this story? Thank you Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Black Panthers, the Kenyan and MSNBC.

Thanks, Junior. First, I'm really happy that you acknowledge my status as a local rock star, it really helps to know that someone of your obvious stature and critical acclaim is paying attention.KeithReynolds wrote: HAHA! The fact you are trying to rip on Peter Steele to insult me is fucking hilarious. Im not even gonna spend time addressing that stupid little rant, haha.
Im sure you have a lot of insight that I dont, I never said you didnt. You are trying to turn me into some Hitler that cannot be questioned. Are you high? Im gonna check to see if bengay fumes can get people stoned.

Now, let's revisit where we were in this debate: You were blaming rap music for the lifestyle that led to an unarmed young man being shot. That young man was not committing any crime, other than being at the wrong store in a mostly-white community. The police have not set any charges against the man who shot him, a part-time security-guard , because of a law that does not apply, The Stand Your Ground Law, which was written verbatim by the NRA and a group called ALEC, a lobbying firm for the NRA.
This law was designed to sell products, specifically handguns and ammo, which are extraordinarily profitable, and the jist of it is if certain people understand that they can legally kill, gun and ammo sales will increase. Personally, they don't care if the bad guy shoots you, or you shoot the bad guy, as long as you both paid for your weapons.
That said, when it's all cooked down, this is a bluegrass guy arguing the validity of rap music to a metal guy who has it all figured out anyway, and because it's silly as hell, I'm Audi-5000, yo. Payce, bitches.
The neighborhood is reported to be 47% white. It would seem to me that the 53% non-whites make up the majority. Keep trying, one day you might accidentally get something right.
More witnesses have been identified who saw Zimmerman with bandages on his head and nose after the incident. Look it up.
If he was attacked as is his story, and these witnesses seem to add evidence to that, the Stand Your Ground law seems very appropriate.
I bet local gun store owners would like to see evidence of this "extraordinary" profit margin.

"NBC told this blog today that it would investigate its handling of a piece on the “Today” show that ham-handedly abridged the conversation between George Zimmerman and a dispatcher in the moments before the death of Trayvon Martin. A statement from NBC:
“We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story.”
Great news right there. As exposed by Fox News and media watchdog site NewsBusters, the “Today” segment took this approach to a key part of the dispatcher call:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.
Here’s how the actual conversation went down:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.
The difference between what “Today” put on its air and the actual tape? Complete: In the “Today” version, Zimmerman volunteered that this person “looks black,” a sequence of events that would more readily paint Zimmerman as a racial profiler. In reality’s version, Zimmerman simply answered a question about the race of the person whom he was reporting to the police. Nothing prejudicial at all in responding to such an inquiry. "
