I have health insurance through my employer, and it's quite good. I can see any doctor/specialist I like, without a referral, and I pay a $25 co-pay. I went to the ER back in January, had several blood tests and an EKG, and it cost me a total of $100. I've been with this company for almost 3 years, and I have no intention of leaving. My last employer didn't provide health insurance, so I found a position with a company that does provide it.

And I agree 100% with Chicksinga.

That affordable health care will run about 500.00+ a month for some families. That is about what it cost now. Tell me where that is affordable? Are you going to pay for mine? You seem so gun ho about it, so why don't you.

The thing that is the issue is the individual mandate. That is unconstitutional. If they remove that, and the government funded abortions, I might agree to it. Then I will have a choice as whether I want to get it or not. And if it is so good, why are unions and government reps getting exempt from it?

The thing they need to do is regulate the insurance companies, and put a cap on the costs. Also control frivolous law suits. The malpractice insurance is one of the reasons it is so high. Anyone will sue anyone these days, for whatever reason they can think of.

What do I want?

There is no proof that they do. The only thing I know is until Obama took over, my taxes, expenditures & budget worked. Now they do not. Because utilities are out of control everything else has risen in price. My taxes have risen. What did Obama do with all the money he saddled us with all this debt to spend? Did he give you healthcare? Did he lower utility costs? Did he alleviate the rampant foreclosures? Did he improve the economy? PLEASE!! Tell me what improvements he has made, because all I can see is that he has dismantled our country & continues to make you believe he has your best interests at heart.
Personally I think it's quite possible that those who follow and believe his continued rhetoric want the country to fail so those who might have been successful can now have the same lives as those who distain success, because they didn't have it. The irony will be that when this sick twist of events is finally complete those people will have NO ONE to fund them, because the money will be GONE.

Rampant foreclosures ? Where did they come from. It was called a housing bubble under GW Bush. Houses were sold for MORE than they were worth, then the bubble burst and the prices came down to what they should have been. Unfortunately too many people now owe MORE than their house is worth. So they don't pay and the house is foreclosed. Not Obama's fault. Never was.

Explain to me who pays for the person who has a serious illness and has no health insurance ? Explain to me who pays for all of the people who go to the hospital emergency room and have no insurance ? YOU and I do via higher medical costs ! That's a fact. Just think for a minute, if everyone had their own private heath insurance from a private health insurance company...the costs would go DOWN. Why is that so hard to understand ?

Remember and understand, the current economy IS GREAT. The top percent of the wealthy and their companies ARE CURRENTLY MAKING RECORD PROFITS ! That's an indisputable fact. Those top percent are also hoarding Trillions of dollars. That's a fact too. Just think what would happen to the economy OF THE MIDDLE AND LOWER CLASS, if those wealthy simply paid a decent wage ? 47% of US citizens pay no federal taxes BECAUSE THEY DON'T MAKE ENOUGH MONEY. This is NOT Obama's fault that the middle class' economy SUCKS while the rich are getting richer. Read that again. The rich are having a great economy right now and it is NOT Obama's fault that these people choose to NOT pay a decent wage.

Think how bad things would be if GM and Chrysler closed. All of those jobs lost and the residual jobs that support GM and Chrysler. Obama, from day one has said he wants to increase taxes on companies who's income relies of foreign labor and use that money to CUT taxes to companies that hire Americans. The Republicans will have none of that. Who's on your side ?

I would predict that the rich Koch Brothers (who own the tea party)(Oops, sorry, they FUND the tea party, not OWN it, lol) made more money in government contracts than what was spent on welfare fraud in any given year. Which they choose to spend to buy politicians like the Governor of Wisconsin. BTW the governor is or was trying to sell off state government utilities for $1.00, to... you guessed it, the Koch Brothers.

What is your opinion of the FACT that US oil production has increased under Obama yet gas prices have increased ? The "drill baby drill" Republicans have told us increased production would lower gas prices. Did they lie to us ? What is your opinion of the FACT that while the US has increased oil production, the oil companies have INCREASED sales of refined oil to foreign countries ?

If you follow the Republicans closely, they want to stop their companies from buying you any health insurance, AND they want tax cuts. I hear Limbaugh often complain that companies should not buy you health insurance. Why do you think they want to kill unions ? Because unions fight for decent wages and benefits like health care. I set her straight and let her know that while she's been warming her lazy ass on that bar stool year after year I was working 2 & 3 jobs at a time, going to night school & taking a test that I scored a 95% to get my job! She called me a bitch of course. That's all she has - her anger and the blame of those of us who have worked hard, rather than acknowledging her own laziness.

the only difference between me & you or anyone on here is work ethic and drive. Anyone can do anything I did, you have to work. Sometimes 3 jobs, sometimes you don't play be cause you have to work, sometimes you give up things, sometimes you don't sleep. I have had some damn hard times. But I NEVER blame anyones success for why I couldn't make it.
