Don't bitch to me about the economy while you're still buying Chinese products.
Actually there is a good reason for that. Music sties and Music stores all pay different prices for a given product (wholesale) depending on the amount they buy. High volume dealers pay less for a product than low volume dealers.
In order to protect a low volume dealer most manufactures ONLY allow all dealers (on line or a local music store) to advertise an item at a given (by the manufacturer) one low price and they are not allowed to advertise it below that price. This price rule probably includes a dealer advertising a % discount beyond the set low price by the manufacturer.
HOWEVER Dealers can sell items for less than the advertised price. Quite often (not always, but usually with big ticket items) a local music store can MATCH or BEAT the price of an on line dealer like Musicians Friend.

you can prick your fingure, but never fingure your.............get your mind outta the gutter.
Yes, the map price. They can sell below that price but they can't advertise below that price, which protects low volume dealers, who pay more for an item than high volume dealers.sunsetbass wrote:correct me if im wrong, that would be their M.A.P. agreement as a dealer for any of those manufacturers?? i kinda understand how that works. i've always wanted to open an audio shop for sound guys.Hawk wrote:Actually there is a good reason for that.
