Dave Grohl's Grammy Award acceptance speech
“To me, this award means a lot because it shows the human element of making music is most important,” said Grohl. “Singing into a microphone and learning to play an instrument and learning to do your craft, that’s the most important thing for people to do. It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about sounding absolutely correct. It’s not about what goes on in a computer. It is about what goes on in here (pointing to his heart), and it is about what goes on in here (pointing to his mind).”

I do love the idea of Dave Groehl but honestly "Wasted Light" does very little for me... I have just never gotten into any of the Foo Fighters music. I have tried.. But I really do like the fact that he won 5 grammies...

I absolutely love the idea that the press made Cobain "the next Lennon," but Grohl, who came up through the Washington DC scene (working-class bands who fought hard for gigs), is winning Grammy's 20 years later.
Not that Grammy's mean what they did 25 yrs ago, but you get to see who really knew what they were doing.
