Dude, they were the shit back in the day. Hollywood director Tim Burton has a complete boner for Elfman's compositional abilities, and uses him on almost every movie that he does.

Here's another one for ya, Keith, from back in my day...Devo frontman Mark Mothersbaugh is also a famous composer for movies and TV, having done scores for movies including Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. He's scored a ton of kid's TV shows, like Rugrats, Beakman's World, Clifford The Big Red Dog, and contributed to PeeWee's Playhouse.

Oh yeah. Oingo Boingo was pretty much his baby from what I understand. In fact, the main theme he did for the movie "Midnight Run" is basically an instrumental version of an old Oingo Boingo song. Fun movie btw. If you haven't seen it, check it out.
