He is probably their 4th receiver on the depth chart. He should take a salary reduction and stay with the team and retire a Steeler at the end of next season. Or retire now and become the wide receiver coach.

He should just retire and stay on the sideline as a WR Coach, I mean, that's what he did this year anyway...

Here is what he said on his facebook page about it:

"I don't normally like to respond to rumors, but as I've said all along, I want to finish my career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. And as I've already told the organization, I am willing to work with them to restructure my contract to make sure this happens. - HINES"

I look for him to commentate when he does retire. He did pretty good commentating at the super bowl this year.

As much as I like Hines Ward, from a business standpoint, he simply makes too much money for someone 4th on the depth chart. You always have to move forward in the NFL, or you my be stuck having a season like the Colts did.

I look for him to restructure his contract so he can stay. He said he will take a pay cut. Look for a deep one.

How much longer does he want to play, has he said?

another year, two?

he is definitely a great guy. they don't come too much better than Hines ward. and he was (is ) one hellava receiver!

his hands are still great but his feet aren't so quick these days
