Adam Lambert Is Queen's New Singer
He's a HORRIBLE choice. Not because he's gay, obviously, but because I couldn't imagine him ever being a team player, or a hard-rocker. The only episode I ever saw of American Idol was the one in which he absolutely puked all over a Johnny Cash song, obviously not having a clue what he was singing.
I'm ashamed for Queen, it's a terrible move.

I think Adam Lambert is the best singer that has ever been on idol.
I think he's a great choice for Queen as long as they don't want him to be a Freddy Mercury impersonator. He definately has his own style and I can't imagine him trying to singing everything exactly as Freddy did.
He is a bit odd and uses poor personal judgement; but so are lots of great musicians.

I once read that Brian May is one of the scientists who work at the Royal Greenwich Observatory.

I saw Queen with Paul Rodgers when they played in Pittsburgh a few years ago. It was hard to hear those great Queen songs without Freddie's unique voice. Paul's own very recognizable, and fantastic voice helped a lot, but it still was not Freddie.
What was so great at that show was they mixed Queen songs and Bad Company songs all night, which worked real well. The encore was Paul's famous "All Right Now" and Brian May was magic on that famous guitar riff.
My suggestion: The Queen band members have a world wide audition for a Freddie replacement, and make it a TV show like Idol. I bet it would have huge ratings and they might find a real good singer out there.

I saw the Queen tribute band called Gary Mullen & The Works and Gary does a decent job but nobody is Freddie Mercury but Freddie. The thing with this act though is that he is trying to imitate and look, move, and sing like Freddie.

The Rolling Stone Magazine article incorrectly lists Adam Lambert as American Idol winner when in fact he came in second place as runner up to Kris Allen who won American Idol in 2009.
