Vinyl to digital recorder

Post by Banned »

I just got a Crosley USB Turntable for recording vinyl onto my laptop, and I was wondering if anyone was familiar with these and had any suggestions on editing. The recording part works fine, but the editing tools on the software that came with it (Audacity) aren't very great. Wondering if anyone had any suggestions or knew of any better recording software that I could look into.

Thanks,
Evan

I can't actually help with your problem, but that sounds so COOOOOL!! I could use one. Where did you find it and was it expensive?

Haha yeah I found them on Kohls.com, the one I got was 150. They had more expensive ones (between 250 and 350) but they played cassettes and cds as well as vinyl. They all were digital recorder ones. The actually recording process is fairly simple once you get it all set up. You just hook the player into the USB port on the computer, hit the record button and play the record. Then save it and export the file to a CD. The problem I'm having is with the recording software's editing tools.

Adobe Audition might work as well. You can download a free fully working trial to see if it works out for you.
