Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the January 8 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM during Steelers football season on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
We picked up where we left off last week in our 2011 Year In Review Special, and recapped the second half of the past year on the area music scene. We continued from July through December, revisiting the area music news, happenings, shows, band personnel moves and other activities that shaped the area music scene through the second half of 2011. And along the way, we heard music from some of the bands and musicians that impacted the area music scene during the past year.

On our next program, with the Steelers’ season ending last weekend, the “Homegrown Rocker” returns to its earlier air time of 8 to 10 PM! We will welcome our first musical guests of New Year 2012, Caeser Pink and Heather Milburn of Caeser Pink & the Imperial Orgy! A Lewistown native now based in New York City, Caeser started Caeser Pink & the Imperial Orgy with Penn State art and theatre students in the mid-90s, creating a visual, no-holds-barred multimedia spectacle on area stages! We’ll learn the group’s story, and hear songs from their new CD, Four Legs Good, Two Legs Baaad! Plus Caeser and Heather will bring instruments and perform a song or two live for us! We’ll also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for a “Local Music Flashback,” and review Bushmaster’s new CD, Revolution Rhapsody, in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Caeser Pink & the Imperial Orgy are in the spotlight on the “Homegrown Rocker,” this Sunday night at 8 PM!
