Anybody tried a Steinberger Synapse baritone guitar?

Post by lonewolf »

I was thinking of getting a steinberger synapse baritone with the built in capo and piezo bridge pickups.

Anybody tried one of these?

I did some checking and people complained that the quality wasn't as good now that Gibson took over.

Another complaint was the very thick strings that are hard to find. I suppose that really can't be helped, after all its a baritone, but I really don't like the feel of Steinberger double-ball strings. There's something inflexible and rigid about them.

Another strange thing is that the fret markers are set up for the key of D not the key of E. Why they did that I'll never know.
