The Hawks Blues Band Update

Post by T.H.B.B. »

It’s somewhat early, but who cares, The Hawks Blues Band would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. May your Christmas season be safe and full of great memories. It is also our hope that your New Years be prosperous and one of the best you’ve ever had. Remember to keep the spirit of Christmas close to your heart all year long!!! And, may all your blues . . . be the good musical kind.

Wow, if the past couple of days are any indication of what to expect, 2012 is going to be a great year for The Hawks Blues Band!

Just a couple of quick tidbits to get you going:

The Bandpage on Rockpage and our Facebook page have been updated with new looks and more information. We hope you like the new formats. We will continue to make changes and improvements, to help keep you informed and to share the excitement we have for the blues. Be sure to check both sites regularly to see what’s new and what’s going on with the band.

We have our direct email and phone number up and running. Should you need to contact us you will find this information on all of our pages, posters, and flyers.

We will be updating our schedule both on Rockpage and Facebook along with keeping the Bandpage up to date on a regular basis. We want to see as many of you at our gigs as possible. We really think you’ll like what you hear, we are that little blues band that people are talking about!

Just a quick note on what’s going on for the remainder of 2011. Our current plans have us making our very first road trip to Johnstown for our final live show of the year. We’re excited to be playing Saturday, December 17th at V.O.M.A. http://www.thevoma.com/v2/

As a real treat we will have our friend Mike Borstnar sitting in with us on guitar during the course of the evening. After that, we plan on heading into the studio for the rest of the year. We’re also looking forward to time spent during the holidays with our family and friends.

After the New Year we will be back playing at a lot of our favorite venues throughout central PA. We have had a tremendous response from a number of new places that have ask to book The Hawks Blues Band. We are currently working to finalize those details. We are also talking to folks “further from home,” with the hope of sharing our style of the blues away from our immediate area. Once we have finalized all of these plans we will post all of them on our Band Page on Rockpage and on Facebook along with reminders and updates on the respective band schedule pages.

There is a bunch of other things in the works, but its way too early for them to be posted so you will need to stay tuned to see what’s going on. We truly are excited about the prospects.

That’s it for now! So, keep checking back for updates and start making plans to come share the excitement and the emotions of The Hawks Blues Band, playin’ da’ blues.

Remember, if you want a preview of what’s to come, check us out at VOMA in Johnstown, in December! It’s your last chance to see us this year. We’d love to see you there.

Peace

The Hawks Blues Band

We want to thank our fans and friends for letting us know that there are rumors circulating that The Hawks Blues Band has broken up.

If you haven’t read our update release, take a couple minutes and look it over, there is a wealth of information contained. There has been a tremendous amount of activity this week with the band, and we have been working feverishly to get the band’s email and phone number in place and tested along with redesigning our pages on both Rockpage and Facebook with a newer fresher look to match the new look the band will have moving forward.

The best part is that we have been in contact all week with venues to start to get our 2012 schedule in place so that you will have some place to enjoy our brand of the blues.

We already know that we will be back at some of the places we have played in the past. There is a probability that there are some places that we have played that we may not return to, but the most exciting things are the new venues that have contacted us and we are currently working out the details. As these become definite we will post and let you know. So keep an eye out to see where we are going to be.

Last but not least, The Hawks Blues Band is alive and well. Any rumor that is being circulated that we have broken up or disbanded is untrue and is a complete fabrication.

If you want to get a sneak preview of what 2012 will bring, come check us out at VOMA in Johnstown on the December 17, 2011. Unless something would change, this will be our last live show for 2011, we will then be heading into the studio for about a month along with enjoying the holidays. After the first of the new year we will be back on the streets bringing the gospel of the blues to ya!!

Haven't seen you guys yet (damn Pittsburgh move), but it's good to see a band striving to stay true to themselves.

You want to try and hit any gigs up in Pittsburgh, let me know.

Is there much of a blues scene in the Burgh?

Is this a Hawk's gig with mjb sitting in (and expanding the lightning with Jason) or are there other blues bands playing?

This is a Hawks gig. No other bands at this time. MJB will be kickin' it with us to make for a magical JTown night.

We were very surprised at the number of inquiries we had to fill the position. Due to time constraints we had to move quickly to get someone in place that we felt would bring the feel and style that we wanted for the band to continue to move forward. We have been working our tails off for the past two weeks to get things in place and with that said the new line up is set.

We will debut the new line up on the 17th of this month at VOMA in Johnstown, so if you can come check us out and see what's going on with The Hawks Blues Band.
