Great to see Tom Dowd, one of the greatest producers ever. Worked with jazz after WWII, with Miles and Coltrane among others. Then was instrumental in getting the Allman Brothers to record the great sounds and vibes they created. He happened to be in NY City the night the Allman Brothers were playing at the Filmore and he produced Live at the Fillmore East album, some consider the best live album of all time. Recorded Disraeli Gears by Cream, on of the greatest heavy rock and roll albums of all time.

There is a movie out about him, with many great musicians talking about the genius of Tom Dowd. He really pushed the multi-track recording technology and is very much why classic rock sounds like it does.

As Eddy Trunk says, it is the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame. They always over look the ones who deserve it the most.
