Read the 23 page Grand Jury report on the whole Sandusky thing, You might have a different opinion on "woe is Joe"!

I read it. I believe his name is mentioned 3 times and only twice in the context of the 2002 incident. He is extremely peripheral in this...no more than a scapegoat brought on by the Joe haters who wanted him out 10 years ago.autumnsky wrote:Read the 23 page Grand Jury report on the whole Sandusky thing, You might have a different opinion on "woe is Joe"!
But you can all talk and bitch and whine all you want...they just lost a $half million scholarship endowment.

BECAUSE ITS NOT HIS FUCKING RESPONSIBILITY!undercoverjoe wrote:And how many young boys have never ending nightmares? Why didn't Joe go and find out who the 10 year old boy was, and was he OK?
As long as it wasn't his grandson, it was all right???????????
Was victory 409 worth more than a couple of raped children?
He's a football coach, not an investigator, not a prosecutor and contrary to opinion, he does not wear a red cape. He didn't even see anything, which makes him ineligible to report the crime to police. He reported it and the witness to the PROPER AUTHORITIES and then some. We don't know what he did after that, but there is no reason to believe that people who lied to the Grand Jury wouldn't just as well lie to him. Had it been anybody else but Joe, THEY WOULD BARELY BE A FOOTNOTE in this whole tragedy and you probably wouldn't even remember their name. Can you say "scapegoat".
I happen to believe that Joe thought it was taken care of and was completely oblivious to the situation for all those years. I certainly can't believe that if Paterno knew the truth about what was going on that he would have tolerated it for one minute. The real irony to this is that the person who made all the mistakes, McCreary, will be on that field come Saturday.
I can't help it if Joe haters don't understand the law. I am thru with all the talk. Its time for me and 10s of thousands of alum to walk.
You can take my place and set up a $500,000 scholarship endowment if you like.

He is a living football god in Happy Valley. I think he is criminally negligible for not following up on the status of that child he was told about. He is in a huge position of authority there, and Sandusky was using the facilities at PSU. JoePa should have cared for the kid, and kicked Sandusky out of PSU that very day. Then called the cops.
The Feds are also looking into this. It is a federal crime not to report campus crimes. You know how I feel the fed has no business here, but they have this existing law, and JoePa might get nailed on it. I also think he will get in trouble at the state level.
Any lawyers here? If you know of child abuse and do not report it to the police, is that a crime?

If you act on hearsay and your informant is wrong, you can be subject to libel. That goes for both of the above statements.
McCreary=material witness
Paterno=football coach with hearsay 2nd hand knowledge
From a strict legal point of view, Paterno wasn't even eligible to call the police (unless on McCreary's behalf) in this matter.

If one of your employees see a crime and report it to you, the reigning god of Penn State Football, you probably should call the cops and let them investigate it. If it was his grandson, would he have done more?lonewolf wrote:No, if you WITNESS child abuse and do not report it, it is a crime.undercoverjoe wrote:I think he is criminally negligible for not following up on the status of that child he was told about.

Im sorry, but if you hear about someone you know thats raping kids, and you do nothing...youre a piece of shit. Awww, you told your little boss about it. Well what about the fucking COPS? Paterno KNEW the incidents were going on and CHOSE to look the other way.
Fire all of them & thrown them all in jail. They all KNEW it was covered up, that makes them sickos and moral lepers.
Some of you are just thinking about the Paterno's BS "legacy" and not what it would be like if it was your children it happened to.
If someone rapes someone and you know about it....do you tell your manager at McDonald's about it instead of doing the RIGHT THING??
Paterno AND others wanted to keep it quiet as to not tarnish the school's rep. WELL GUESS WHAT??
Its fucking SICK that NO ONE went to the cops. They should all be beaten.
Who gives a SHIT about people taking the money out of the college?? We are talking about CHILD RAPE for Shit's sake. Holy shit. It really lets you know what kind of a person someone is when you read what they say. Id be ashamed....

When Paterno was informed, the crime was no longer in progress and was no longer deemed "emergency".
At Penn State, the standard procedure for reporting non-emergency crime is to report it to the department head for further disposition.

Did ya'll get that? I wouldn't want to have to repeat myself...again.
I know this as a fact because I worked there and had to report a few non-emergency crimes. The first time, i reported it directly to the University Police and got my ass reamed for not going to the department head first.
Paterno, by his own choice, was NOT a department head and purposely resigned his position as Athletic Director years before so that he wouldn't have to deal with all that responsibility as head coach.
Had one of the grad students that I supervised come to me with the same kind of story with a Professor Emeritus that I knew, I would have taken them directly to the department head. Chances are, I would have been dismissed from the incident since I had no 1st hand knowledge of the crime and couldn't provide any additional information.
After that, I seriously doubt that they would include me in the investigation and would not inform me about their progress. If I was to inquire, I would very likely be told nothing.

Not nearly as stupid as throwing policy and law out the window because children are involved. When you have a responsible job, you do things by the book because that's how you've been trained to do it and that's how you've always done it.KeithReynolds wrote:Youre missing the point Lonewolf. FUCK PENN STATE POLICY ...we are talking about multiple incidents of CHILD RAPE.
Clearly the fucknuts that were involved were only worried about their jobs.
So I ask you this...Are you stupid? or just a sympathizer with those accused?
That's all the more reason to follow the law and the policy...to make sure there are no mistakes made. Unfortunately, the mistakes were the people in charge...as it was 4 years earlier with the police and the DA who let him walk.

Yeah, if I saw a dead guy in a ditch, I wouldn't say, "Ehh, he's already dead. Nothing I can do."
The entire Catholic hierarchy, from the local bishops to the Papal See, are responsible for the decades (and perhaps, centuries) of child abuse in the Catholic church. This is the same.
If the abuse continued after you told your boss, you didn't do enough.

Yes----FUCK PENN STATE POLICY--- What about taking care of children? JoePa always talked about working with his "kids", meaning his students, his young adult players. Here was a real kid with Joe's friend's dick in his ass. He needed help, even if it was a day late. Did JoePa ever inquire about the boy since 2002?
No, Penn State Football was more important , especially those records.
and you know that for a fact? really. everyone is real quick to judge and throw stones. fact is, we don't know anything about anything, except what the media is feeding us.undercoverjoe wrote: He needed help, even if it was a day late. Did JoePa ever inquire about the boy since 2002?

Well, if JoePa had contacted the kid, and knew what really happened, its a worse crime that Joepa let Sandusky use PSU football facilities for another 7 years.kayla wrote:and you know that for a fact? really. everyone is real quick to judge and throw stones. fact is, we don't know anything about anything, except what the media is feeding us.undercoverjoe wrote: He needed help, even if it was a day late. Bottom line, if you know your friend is raping kids, and you dont do everything in your power to stop it, then you are a PIECE OF SHIT. No questions asked.
All the good you think you are is thrown right out the fucking window. If someone I knew was doing that, id hurt them very very bad and call the police afterwards. Youre gonna suffer. Thats the way it should be. If you think any different, fuck off.
Id feel the same way if I knew a person raping adults. Some things just arent tolerable and go above & beyond any rules, laws or paid off morality.
Im amazed at the morons in State College who were rioting because they are mad that a pedo sympathizer was fired. This world is fucked. Everyone connected to this deserves to be fired, jailed and made to realize WHY they are morons.

From what I've read here, I now know that Joe has superpowers, but I didn't know telepathy was one of them.

Only known to the perv while he was butt fucking him, but McQueary should have rescued him at that instant, but he was just a 6'5", 230 pound weakling, what could he do. JoePa should have done everything he could to find out who the kid was the next day, and do everything to see if this happened, and to stop future times. But no, it let it go on for 7 more years. Penn State is in for some HUGE legal battles. 100's of Millions depending on how many come forward.lonewolf wrote:Do you mean the kid whose identity was known only to Sandusky?undercoverjoe wrote:Well, if JoePa had contacted the kid, and knew what really happened, its a worse crime that Joepa let Sandusky use PSU football facilities for another 7 years.kayla wrote: and you know that for a fact? really. everyone is real quick to judge and throw stones. fact is, we don't know anything about anything, except what the media is feeding us.

Enabler to a child molester. Nice legacy.
Since when is finding an adult raping a kid up the ass in a college-owned shower considered a "non-emergency crime"? Maybe in 20 years or so when the kid grows up to be an abuser himself???
