Looking for band members in the Altoona area...

Post by daybreak »

...for a metal band. Preferably all originals, not really looking to get big but mainly for fun/to record/play shows within a 50 mile radius. Mainly going for a Killswitch Engage/August Burns Red sound. I like a lot of moody/melodic stuff thrown into my metal.

Looking for Vocals/guitars/bass/drums. I can play either guitar or drums and provide backing vocals. Been playing drums for 10 years, classically trained.

I have songs written already. Please have your own equipment/ride and be responsible. Prefer those around my age (22) (Not entirely necessary, but its easier to relate). Don't be a jerk!

If popularity takes off, I'm not opposed to taking it to the next level, but this isn't my main goal. Starting a band expecting to get big almost always ends in disappointment.

Message me here or email me at bow2sean@gmail.com if you're interested!

PS, I'm a little picky about song structure. I'm not one to just throw mediocre parts in a song if I'm stuck, I prefer to work it out till something sounds good.

@ Swing: A classically trained drummer is someone who can read music and has had formal training from a teacher, most likely in multiple disciplines, including set, snare, percussion, tympani, mallet percussion, and auxiliary percussion. Ya gotta know a Ratamacue from a Swiss Triplet from a Triple Flamadiddle. That's not saying that drummers who haven't had formal training can't kick ass, but reading and knowing your rudiments opens up a ton of doors.

Thats what I thought you ment. I too would be in this relm. Know various stinking tech push pull moller, single stroke double, tripple ect full half and tap, gosting and voicing. Read music play Latin, Jazz, swing, Funk, Rock use brushes mallets and so on. Study new patterns have large beat metrix and not afraid of new stuff. Just love how you put your original post. I am sorry I am such a sarcastic fucker. Have a blast Swingmaster!

What's your schedule? I've been looking to jam with someone. My only crutch is I can't play too often, just had a baby. Also, do you have a practice space?

Wednesday's open entirely
Thursday after 2
Friday after 5
Saturday after 4
Sun-Tues are out, as I have work/class all day those days.

I have a practice space with a PA, I just don't have a powerful amp yet So I can't really play guitar with the drums, dunno what instrument you're looking to play.

Well, count me out. Sundays and saturday mornings are the only good time for me. Thanks for the response though and good luck.

Well. I'm sure something can be worked out. Sundays are not always unavailable, just as of late. The next couple Sundays are open for me.
