Ok, for a serious post--Musicians Near Huntingdon

Post by hicksjd9 »

Are there any musicians near Huntingdon? Honestly, I'm feeling discouraged, like I'm sure many others are on here who are searching for fellow musicians. I just want to play music and be creative. It would be one thing if people came by and left because I sucked, but, sadly, I can't get anyone to even show up at all.

My Musical Resume:

I was a founding member and frontman of Anything Jane (now Camino Sky), fronted Lies, Inc. for about 4 years, and Wiskerbisket for a little over a year. Left shortly before my daughter was born, but I just want to play again.

I'd be willing to play a fair amount. I've played pretty much everywhere locally. I can book gigs just about anywhere if I have a decent group of musicians that I can count on. I'm more reliable than most once I get in the swing of things. I have no drug problems, etc.

I'm mostly interested in writing, but I know how it goes. I'd be willing to do the obligatory covers to get the gigs. Songwriting is what I do best, singing second, and guitar third. I can pretty much play any rhythm part no matter how complex. I struggle with leads. I'm not a shredder. With enough practice, maybe I could be, but I honestly just don't have any interest in it.

I'm writing this post and then I'm done trying to force something to happen. I'll simply focus on the studio as I have been. I don't pretend to be the next best thing, but I am a solid musician, I'm reliable, and I try to pull my weight.

I guess my definition of a fair amount is 3x a month max. It would be awesome to be in a band with you again, but I just can't do every weekend anymore.

Someone get in touch with JD - he is a very talented and top-notch musician; I've seen him work a room many times. In my opinion, his post above is rather modest. IF there are any serious musicians looking to get something off the ground - JD is as dedicated as they come.
