Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the October 16 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 9 to 11 PM during Steelers football season on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
Thanks to our guests, resurrected area hard rockers Lies, Inc. (http://www.liesincorporated.com/). We met the new mach edition of the group, featuring new singer Lily Taylor (ex-Nitekast), and learned their latest happenings and their fixation with corporate sponsor Pete’s Pickled Eggs, plus heard brand new recorded songs from them! Since current Lies, Inc. members Kent Tonkin and Ron Brode were in the house, we dug a 1999 song from their previous band, The Grimm, from the archive for a “Local Music Flashback!” Along the way, we debuted new tracks from Flight 19 and The Embalmed. We also updated “Local Music News,” and reviewed The Black Saxons' Disaster CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner.”
Here is this week's playlist:
HOUR ONE:
RAPID FIRE – “Unbreakable”
NAILDRIVER – “Executioner”
LIES, INC. – “Invertigo”
FLIGHT 19 – “Girl Like You”

LIES, INC. – “Hypnotic”
THE GRIMM – “6’s and 7’s” (1999, Local Music Flashback)
LIES, INC. – “Blink of an Eye”
On our next show, our guests will be the prolific music-creating duo of Zupe and Dave Nichols! Zupe & Nichols have received numerous accolades from the music industry since the release of their 2007 album Speechless; and one track from that disc, “Step On It,” has been nominated for this year’s Hollywood Music in Media Awards! The pair will update us on their latest musical developments, and we’ll hear tracks from the Speechless CD, Zupe’s ballroom dance CD Dance, Dave’s collaborative efforts with Johnstown area frontman Tom Pavic and more! We’ll also update “Local Music News,” dig into the archive for another “Local Music Flashback,” and review Jerry Carnicella’s Versatility CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner!” Zupe & Nichols visit the “Homegrown Rocker,” next Sunday night!

And Johnstown metal monsters The Embalmed officially unleash their new disc, called Make the Children Listen, with a CD-release event this Saturday night at Around The Corner in Johnstown.
