Ok, I have an Ipad 1 with Garageband on it. I purchased a camera card reader with USB input that plugs into the Ipad and then a 1/4" to usb cable. Plug the cable from my 16channel mixer monitor out to the usb input of the camera card which goes into the Ipad and I can record a track to garageband. This works but can be a little flaky sometimes for some reason. My question is....
have you done this? What problems did you run into? What tips do you have? Where do you set the noisegate in garageband?

Keep in mind this is by no means a way to get a studio quality recording... . just a way to capture our ideas and build on a song when we are not practicing as a band.

Basically what I mean by flaky is that sometimes when I connect to the ipad i have to disconnect and reconnect several times before it picks anything up on the ipad... sometimes needing to close the garageband app ect. I did order the IRig the other day so I'm hoping that this will be a better way to get the signal into the ipad. I'll post back after I get it, looks like it's going to be about 10 days before it shows up.
