Well, now I'm really limited. Our only modern rock station (that wasn't even that good) has just changed format to ANOTHER LATIN DANCE STATION....aaaaaaaahhhhh. I hate Clear Channel!

Justin's choices for Radio in South Florida....

Big 105.9 - Clear Channel Classic Rock (an Option for Justin)
103.5 THE BEAT - Clear Channel Dance/Hip Hop
Majic 102.7 - Independent Oldies (an Option for Justin)
Y 100.7 - Clear Channel Easy Listening
99.9 Kiss - Beasly Broadcast Country
Gater 98.7 - Clear Channel Classic Rock (West Palm, bad reception)
The Coast 97.3 - Independent Dentist Office Shit
Power 96.5 - Beasly Broadcast - Pop/Dance
Wild 95.5 - Clear Channel Pop
Mega 94.9 - Used to be Zeta 94.9 Rock - Clear Channel Latin Dance
Love 93.9 - Clear Channel Jazz
Party 93.1 - Independent Techno Station
Classy 92.1 - Clear Channel Classic Jazz

***and a number of other spanish stations that I don't understand.***

94.9 Zeta wasn't that good of a rock station, but they did have a funny morning show...Lex and Terry (with Drunk Bitch Friday) as well as the 90's at noon.

Now I'm stuck bouncing between Oldies, Country, and the same Classic Rock songs each day (go figure, Clear Channel). AAAAAAAAAAAAGH. God knows the local music scene has been going downhill here since J.Lo and Puffy made this area their home away from home, so it might be time to do some mail ordering of the PA music scene.

A side note about spanish stations....even though I can't understand what they're saying, spanish Telemundo always has hot women on it...ALWAYS and their commercials are funny. I watch it at night when I'm drunk and it makes me laugh.

Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger...

They'rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre Magnifico!

Sounds like XM Radio or Sirius Sattlelite would be in order. I think that is the problem in a lot of place. Like around here for example: The stations that are good only have a library of about 20 or 30 songs, they just hit random repeat on the cd they are playing. With XM Radio or Sirius you have a lot more veriety ...

Yeah, that's looking like the option now. I'm going to shop around tomorrow on my day off. I need to find a setup that I can take in the car as well as to work and home.

Never thought I'd see the day when I'd pay to listen to the radio. Strange.

Don't feel bad. My favorite "classic rock" station has turned into the Bono channel.

Puke my f'ing guts out at Bono & Co.

No kidding, can you play a more boring song on the Grammy's?

If you guys haven't ever read maddox, it's quite amusing for those boring days at work, here's what he says about U2....

I watched and listened to U2 perform on the Grammys. Where is the friggin' keyboardist? Without the keyboard track, the background to that song would have been reduced to two guitar notes and a few slide notes. Where were the keys coming from? Where do ALL their keys (that fill in the background for just about every song they ever made) come from?

{yawn} you are right. Well, my workday is over and I have to go start up the car and hear Bono's screeching again. {yawn}

Lonewolf, I just listened to the song "Vertigo", and there are only a few keyboard effect sweeps in the whole song. The rest of the song is drums, bass, guitar and vocals as far as I could hear. There is a lot of layering and time delay effects, but I honestly don't see where keys would make a difference. I just don't think it's a very good song to perform live.

As far as the background fill you are talking about, do you mean the triplet delay effect that the Edge (over)uses? AKA "the Gilmoure effect"?

Here's a quote that pretty much sums up my feelings about U2.
"Over the last few years, the notion that U2 was a rock band fired by idealism, that it was somehow different from other corporate-rock juggernauts, has eroded. In its place has come the perception that U2 becoming a bigger band doesn't necessarily make it a better one"
... and then the wheel fell off.

yeah, best page on URANUS

That is one wastoid (not you, Justin) with more time on his hands than purpose in his life. Maddox my ass, I think we've found another, if not the original, metalrules!
Please PRAY that that assbreath never gets into these forums.

I've always liked U2, and I give it to them for still being out there. I don't know how "revolutionary" sounding the new album is, it sure would be hard to follow up on their past successes at the age they are, and I will probabaly wait to find it in the used bin before even thinking about buying it. I hate to see them so commercialized, but before you are gonna hang it, it would be nice to have the money they are surely getting to set up the family for a generation or so. but, Having it pounded into my face is no way to get me to buy, or do anything, hence, I am so sick of hearing Vertigo, which may be a cool song, but I won't know for 5 or 10 years until my wounds from the beating of it have healed.
All in all, good for them on all the success, they have enough money, and won't get any of mine.

I'm not gonna spend my energy bashing on anyone ever, if I can help it , unless it's metalrules or a wanker like him, which apparently exists.

I don't recall them playing Vertigo. At least I didn't "watch and listen" to it. I was talking about the song they performed. I'm not sure of its name, but there was very little guitar there...not much bass either. Just two single notes back and forth and then a few single slide notes. Huge moving strings & synths in the background. Take away the keys and its very, very thin.

Nice, I'll be hitting it up as soon as the DSL is connected in the store. We replaced our old Event monitors at the studio, so I swiped them  they'll sound great blasting buzz from the shop on the beach!

Ahhhhhhhh!! I can relate to you on that one bro!!

By the time I get to channel 25, there are like 4 or 5 spanish/latin stations that I have no idea what the hell they are saying. I just hear them roll their tongues a lot and it seems if they're trying to be funnier, they roll them that much more. I'm to the point, the only time I turn on the tv is to check the weather channel out.

I swear by the end of the year that if I glue my ass down in front of the boob tube, I could learn how to speak their language. heh

I miss Q-94 and some of the other cool stations back at home!!!

I miss 105.5 WCHX!! Now... we have "CHIX 105 the Classic Hit Station". That does not mean classic rock. Classic Rock is what used to be there. The station went from classic rock in the afternoons anyway, to "the Best Mix is on CHIX 105". What a joke. Hot A/C (Adult Contemporary) is the demise and downfall of civilization, I swear to it. Fortunately living in Juniata County I receive very strong signal from 105.7 "The X" out of York/Harrisburg/Hershey/Lancaster. I just fear that XM and Sirius will completely take over and our "hometown dj's that we have all grown to love will be no more. Only national network corporate ass kissers!!
