Jamie Foxx deserves every award he gets for this movie. It was eerie how much of Ray Charles he was and how little he was himself. The movie is awesome.

I concur with everyone here, every musician needs to see this. it's not even a movie to me , it's the story of the life of an inspiring human being. I was blown away to see everything that he went thru. I damn near even cried at a point.
EVERY musician who aspires to be great needs to see this story.

I can't remember...does anyone know what Jamie Foxx's real name is?
I used to remember stupid trivia about fake names and such.
I think the first name is Chris something....

Watched it the other week, the regular version first, planning to watch the extended version later on, but never got around to it.

What all does the extended version have that the regular one doesn't? Does it go into his later years at all, like the regular one didn't?

The extra has some scenes added in but it's nothing of importance. Actually, the cuts from the new stuff to the original version are bad and if you watch the extended version first, you can get confused at times because of bad editing. IMO you will see extra stuff but the extended version detracts from the movie, which is odd because usually it adds extra flavor to the experience.
