So disappointed they resigned Ike Taylor, and did not go after any of the corner-backs on the free agency market.
They are rumored to cut ties with Max Starks, their left tackle, who was injured most of last year.

They got rid of Flozell Adams. Do they have any offensive tackles left in camp?Eightball wrote:Starks was cut, who is next?

Burress is going to the Jets. I am glad he isn't going to the Steelers.

Absolutely not. They already have a deep threat in Mike Wallace. Randy Moss can be unpredictable in the locker room. We don't need anyone like that there.
I think we need at least one blocking tight end so Heath Miller can get out there and catch more passes. He could be a first or second option in that passing game.

I am disappointed. The two areas that were the problems last year were the O line and D backfield.
O line, they got rid of Max Starks (maybe too high of a salary) and Flozell Adams (past his prime anyway). They did not pick up any free agent O linemen. How are they going to improve by getting rid of a good player?
D backs, they resigned all the same players from the weakest part of the team last year. All those great CB free agents that were available, and the Steelers did not even look at one. They drafted a CB and S early in the draft, but no team counts on rookie D backs. They need a year or two to learn the pro game, if they ever do learn it.
Steelers did nothing to improve the 2 weaknesses from last year. Why not?

Think about it, the players from last year got a lot of criticism, and they still got to the superbowl. They will only be better this year, with the added experience from last year.undercoverjoe wrote:I am disappointed. The two areas that were the problems last year were the O line and D backfield.

Your car gets you to the supermarket, but you still fix something that is wrong with it. I don't see the same exact secondary getting better. If anything Ike Taylor is now 31 and that is the age athletes start to lose a step, a very dangerous thing to a CB in the pass happy NFL. Troy seems not as fast as he used to be. He made very few of those spectacular plays last year. The number one rated CB was on the free agency market and the Steelers just yawned. He went to the Eagles, who already have a good secondary. Others teams improve weaknesses and make their strengths even stronger. Not the Steelers. I am having doubts about this coach and his lack of strategic planning.RobTheDrummer wrote:Think about it, the players from last year got a lot of criticism, and they still got to the superbowl.
