Need a generator rental

Post by DATASOUND »

Anyone no of rental places that rent LARGE generators? Looking for 100kw to 175kw size. Can't be some old noisy construction generator or a welding generator. This will be for an concert event in Cumberland MD. So the closer the better. Long distance delivery is jacking up the quotes I'm getting from companies 3hrs out. And nothing large enough here locally.

There is a place in State College that rents them. http://www.bestlineinc.com/

~2 hours from Cumberland according to Google maps. I rented a 60kW genset from there a few years back for a ground breaking ceremony. Their rates were pretty reasonable. The generators they have I've used for my gigs and I've seen them at gigs I've worked crew. They aren't "movie set" quiet, but they are not noisy by any means.

Not sure if you've ever rented one of these before, but most of theses portable gensets will have a lunette ring on the trailer. You'll need a pintle hitch to tow it, and a hefty one at that.

Additionally, if you have a straight truck that is under CDL... towing anything that puts you over 26,000 lbs will then require you to have a CDL.
"Turn it down!"
"What?"
