An established and gigging band could very well need a drummer if their current drummer has decided to leave the band of his/her own accord or if the band has decided to replace the current drummer for whatever reason. It has happened believe it or not. Here are just a few examples for you of established, gigging bands that replaced their drummer; you should know some of these names...

KISS - Avenged Sevenfold - Dream Theater - Ozzy Osbourne - Black Label Society - Whitesnake - DIO - Judas Priest - Slayer - and the list can go on and on.

On a more local level a few established, gigging bands that come to mind would be Bad Daze, Inside Out, Dakota Rose, etc.

As a matter of fact this process can happen with any instrument, not just drums. Thank you for your educated input though...
