Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the May 29 edition of Rocky 104.9 and Rocky 99's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com) and WRKW-FM (www.rocky99.com).
This week we honored our annual Memorial Day tradition, and took a two-hour stroll down local music Memory Lane on the program. For the first 90 minutes, we recalled past local and regional bands and artists, some from as far back as the 1960s! We opened with a live performance curio from The Front going back to 1983, when they opened for Kix at Sir Skate of Altoona! During the show’s final half hour, we paid homage to some of the area musicians we have lost over the years, with an emphasis on musicians we lost since this special aired last year. Always one of our most popular shows of the year, we hope you enjoyed this spin through the local music archive; and remember, if you didn’t hear your favorite past bands this week, we do the “Local Music Flashback” feature each week!
Here is this week's playlist:
